Hi, I’m Dave. If you’re tired of feeling stuck and ready to break the cycle, let's get to work. Whether you are navigating a dark season or seeking a new frontier of growth, I can help you find the clarity and peace you’ve been looking for. Who am I? > A Person with Lived Experience: I am a husband of 30+ years and a father of three. I have also personally overcome clinical depression and addiction. I don’t just know the theory; I have deep empathy for your struggle—and I know the way out. > An Experienced Guide: For over 25 years, I have served as a licensed professional, helping adults and teens navigate their darkest seasons with clarity and confidence. > A Believing Clinician: As both a Christian and an evidence-based clinician, I will meet you exactly where you are—whether you want to integrate faith into our work or prefer a purely scientific approach. > A Collaborative Partner: I favor doing over aimless talking. While I provide a compassionate space to be heard, I will also work closely with you to help you apply proven strategies that create real-world change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

> A Warm Welcome: You will find an unconditional ally from the moment we meet. You will be seen, known, and truly heard. > A Strategic Roadmap: We will move beyond the surface to explore your unique challenges and resources, tailoring a specific plan for your circumstances. > Empowerment: You won’t just leave with a "good feeling"—you will leave with a tangible sense of direction and hope.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

> Getting to the Root: Using Schema Therapy, I help you understand the deep-seated patterns that keep you stuck. We don't just pull at the leaves; we get to the core issues so you can experience lasting change. > Holistic Integration: I address the whole person—mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. By integrating your personal values with clinical science, we facilitate healing that resonates across your entire life. > A Practical Toolkit: My goal is to work myself out of a job. By blending attachment science with mind-body and cognitive strategies, I equip you with a personalized "life-skills toolkit" to maintain your progress and thrive long after our work together is done.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am especially well-equipped to help the following types of individuals: > The Chain-Breaker: You are weary of the weight of anxiety, depression, or addiction and want to resolve the cause, not just "manage" the symptoms. > The Growth-Seeker: You are done talking in circles. You want an intentional, evidence-based approach and practical strategies for positive change. > The Vibrant Soul: You aren't just looking to be "less sad"—you want to be more alive. I will help you rediscover joy, peace, and your unique purpose. You don't have to keep doing this alone. Let’s find your way forward—schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Ongoing patterns of emotional, relationship, and behavior problems are often rooted in unresolved attachment trauma. I have found that addressing and healing these attachment wounds is the best way to create real and lasting change.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

For over 25 years, I have utilized an attachment-based form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) called Schema Therapy. I have found this approach to be particularly comprehensive and powerful in helping individuals recognize and overcome stubborn patterns of shame, depression, anxiety, anger, addictive behaviors, and relationship problems.

Positive Psychology

An unfortunate pitfall of mental health treatment is that, often treatment is not focused on health at all, but just the management of sickness. In contrast, positive psychology is the science of what creates joy and fulfillment. I have found that, while addressing obstacles to mental health, helping clients also plug into and apply principles of positive psychology can often dramatically improve their quality of life.

Christian Counseling

As both a believer and clinician, I have found that, for those who so desire, including one's personal faith as part of the treatment process can provide enormous benefits.
