Lynne McRae
My work is dedicated to helping people find joy in their lives and relationships. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and I specialize in anxiety. I also do Reiki and Yoga Nidra, and I utilize herbal medicine to help people heal. I use a variety of evidenced based and holistic therapies to help my clients find meaning and happiness, navigate difficult life transitions, and feel more empowered to manage life's challenges. My clients often give me feedback that my clinical approach and compassion help them to achieve valuable life results.
First session
In a respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship, we work to clarify and expand your life story, explore hidden and unrealized parts of yourself, set therapeutic goals, and empower you to create a life full of meaning and joy. My role is to help you receive the services you need for deep healing.
Strengths
I believe many people feel scared, lonely, and disconnected from others. When we truly begin to love ourselves, we can create resilient, healthy connections with others. I approach my clients with curiosity and encouragement - without judgement. In addition to therapeutic approaches, I also use my advanced diagnostic skills, clinical experience, and knowledge of medications to treat clients with compassion.
Ideal clients
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and I tend to help people heal from anxiety. Anxiety may present itself through compulsive patterns, disconnections from others, low self esteem, and difficulties managing life transitions. I work best with clients who want to collaborate with me to create goals that are achievable, work on healing, and ultimately who want to be happy!
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have had many years of experience working with clients using this modality. CBT helps with a range of issues, works well, and can be tailored to each client. Clients work with me to identify automatic thoughts and behaviors, restructure thoughts and try new behavior patterns, and build new skills to improve their lives.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I have used ERP with clients with high anxiety to decrease obsessions and compulsions, decrease avoidance of certain situations, and tolerate distress. I help clients face their fears, engage in life, and tolerate uncertainty.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I have worked with many diverse clients over the years, and I am experienced in working with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC people. I am an LGBTQ+ ally, well educated in affirming therapies, and help clients express their true selves fully.
Relational
I use Relational-Cultural Therapy to focus on how a client's relational patterns influence their emotional world, identity and ways of connecting. The focus is on the real relationship I have with my clients as a source of growth and new emotional learning.
