LPC, 9 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello and welcome to my profile! A little bit about me, I am a counselor that leads with compassion and empathy. I have nine years of professional experience working with clients from various ages, cultures and diagnoses. I highly value multicultural competency and meeting each individual where they are at with zero judgment and shame. Healing requires safety and trust, and I am here to create a sanctuary for healing and walk with you in this journey.
Our first session is going over the intake forms together and getting a sense of goals for treatment. After creating goals, the rest of our sessions will consist of treating these goals with specific tools and techniques for healing.
I am a minority based counselor that provides compassion to all that seek care and healing. I believe strongly in my clients gifts, strengths and resiliency. I never shy away from revealing these strengths and making them known to my clients. I am gentle in my approach and loving when challenging negative thoughts and beliefs about oneself.
I specifically focus on trauma related issues including childhood trauma, survivors of traumatic events, abuse, anger and traumatic experiences. I also specialize in various anxiety and depressive disorders from all rages on the spectrum. I utilize various treatment methods depending on the client history, personality, diagnoses, and experiences. I don't believe one size fits all!
TF-CBT incorporates trauma narratives, meditation, parent-child involvement and identifying and challenging negative thought patterns.
This treatment not only takes into account the client's culture; but works with cultural beliefs, experiences and values into therapy. Fully accessing it instead of negating it.
Early attachment style to the client's caregiver; is highly critical in therapy. We will be unraveling childhood attachment and how that is impacted in present day.
I use this method for those seeking spiritual- based counseling. I also apply existential therapy to compliment aspects of Christian based therapy.
Discovering how to have compassion for yourself and others is important for everyone and specifically those experiencing deep shame and regret. I believe empathy is the driving force to healing.
