I am a compassionate clinician who works with individuals navigating trauma, substance use, suicidality, and co-occurring mental health challenges. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and focuses on helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered as they build practical skills for emotional regulation and healing. I believe in meeting each person where they are and supporting them with respect, collaboration, and care.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will focus on helping you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. I’ll take time to learn about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what has or hasn’t been helpful for you in the past. We’ll talk about your current concerns at a pace that feels safe, and if needed, we’ll also discuss immediate supports or safety planning. You don’t need to have everything figured out—this first meeting is about connection, understanding, and setting a foundation for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is working effectively with individuals who have complex trauma histories, substance use concerns, and co-occurring mental health challenges, including suicidality. I bring a calm, structured, and compassionate approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which allows me to help clients stabilize, build practical coping skills, and gain insight into patterns that keep them stuck. My experience in high-acuity settings has strengthened my ability to support clients during difficult moments while maintaining a collaborative, respectful therapeutic relationship.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are struggling with trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, or thoughts of self-harm and are looking for support in making meaningful changes in their lives. I work well with clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure where to start, and who want practical tools to better manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. I am especially well-suited to support clients with complex histories who benefit from structure, safety, and a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I prefer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because of its strong evidence base and its effectiveness when working with clients who present with suicidality, trauma histories, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Through my clinical experience, I have found CBT particularly useful in helping clients identify and challenge maladaptive thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress, impulsivity, and high-risk behaviors. CBT provides concrete tools for stabilization, safety planning, and symptom management, which is especially important when working with individuals experiencing acute suicidality or severe trauma responses. Its structured, collaborative approach also supports clients in building insight, emotional regulation skills, and a sense of agency in their recovery. More Personal / Reflective Version My preference for CBT comes from my experience working with clients who struggle with suicidality, trauma, and complex mental health conditions. I’ve seen how powerful it can be in helping clients slow down their thinking, recognize cognitive distortions, and develop practical coping skills during moments of crisis. CBT’s structured framework allows me to support safety and stabilization while still honoring each client’s lived experience. I appreciate that CBT is collaborative and skill-based, which helps clients feel empowered rather than overwhelmed, particularly when they have long histories of trauma or chronic mental illness.
