About me

I take a client-centered approach to therapy, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs. You can expect clear communication in a nonjudgmental space where your time is valued and your voice is heard. Whether you need a cheerleader in your corner or someone to simply sit with you in silence, I'm here to honor wherever you are. If you're navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, or the end of a relationship — or if you're looking for accountability toward your goals, or support in finding yourself and building self-esteem — we'll create a plan together that's realistic and tailored to you. Whatever "what's next?" looks like for you, we'll work through it side by side.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is really about getting to know each other — no pressure, no judgment, just a conversation. I'll ask about what's bringing you to therapy right now, a bit about your background, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. This is also your chance to ask me anything: about my approach, my experience, or how I work. From there, we'll start shaping a plan that feels realistic and specific to you, not a one-size-fits-all approach. There's no script to follow. If you need to talk, we'll talk. If you need quiet space to think, that's okay too. My goal in this first session is simply for you to leave feeling heard, and to have a sense of where we might go from here.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My style is informal and adaptable — I meet you where you are and draw on my education and experience to help you find what works. I want working with me to feel like a safe space where you're free to just be yourself. I relocated from Illinois to Arizona in 2016. I've been a licensed counselor since 2007, and was also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Illinois through 2018. As a visual artist, I also recognize the struggles of the creative mind and understand how sometimes process is greater than the finished product. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

They're an adult, likely navigating one of a few common threads: a life transition, anxiety, depression, grief, the end of a relationship, or a struggle with substance use. They may not have a single clear "problem" to name — sometimes it's more of a "I know something needs to change, I'm just not sure what" feeling, or a genuine "what's next?" moment in life. They value authenticity over formality. They're not looking for a therapist who stays clinical and distant — they want someone who feels human, who they can be casual with, and who will meet them without judgment. They want a collaborative partner, not someone who hands them a generic worksheet. They're motivated to do the work but want support building a plan that's actually tailored to their life — whether that's coaching-style accountability toward goals, or a strengths-based approach to rebuilding self-esteem. They may identify as LGBTQ+, or be an ally. You prefer a provider who won't flinch, pathologize, or require extra education from them about who they are.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

From an Adlerian perspective, everyone strives toward meaning and belonging, your early life shaped a "lifestyle," behavior is goal-directed, and you're not broken, you're discouraged.

Strength-Based

You already have resources, even if they're hard to see right now. Your problems are not your identity. We will focus on what's working, not just what's broken. It's less about digging into "why are you like this" and more about "what's already working, and how do we build on it."
