I am an experienced, thoughtful and caring therapist that will help you overcome or work on any issues, problems or concerns that you are dealing with. I have over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, and I have worked with singles, couples, families, seniors, and adolescents. I am empathic and an active listener. I treat all of my clients with unconditional positive regard and respect. I do not believe in a one size fits all therapy approach. Every client is different and has different needs and that is my focus. I work with the entire person to help them improve their mental health and over all well-being.
During our first session, I will introduce myself to you and tell you about my experience and expertise. I will ask you questions to find out more about you, your goals, problems and how we can work together on dealing with your issues that brought you into therapy initially. I am very compassionate and empathetic. You will see that I am available and very accessible to you if you need me, outside of our regularly scheduled session times. My focus is my clients and their overall well-being.
In life we all find ourselves dealing with the challenges and obstacles that are preventing us from being the best that we can be. I can help you reach your goal and journey whatever that may be. I have a genuine interest in working with people to help them figure things out and move to the next chapter in their lives.
I believe that CBT is effective, because it allows the client to be able to re-evaluate the way in which they think, which in turn will change their behavior. It has been very effective and instrumental in helping my clients move forward with their lives.
Compassion focused therapy is important, because it helps the client process better knowing that the therapist is there for them during their time of need.
Solution focused therapy allows the client with the assistance and guidance of the therapist to set out goals and work on how to achieve them.
I have used MI in my practice with my clients and I find it to be extremely helpful in finding the motivation that they need to move towards positive change.
