I have spent most of my counseling career as an addictions counselor (substance use and problem gambling), and through that experience, I have worked with many co-occurring issues/conditions such as anxiety, bereavement, depression, career/life transitions, and trauma.
First session
During our first session, I will ask questions to get to know you better, and more importantly, to clarify what brings you to treatment. We will discuss your history with your concerns, what you have done to alleviate symptoms in the past, and what you are willing to do in the future. After our sessions, my clients can expect to feel empowered to make well thought out decisions in their lives and approach their lives with confidence.

I am an easygoing, supportive, resourceful, and empathetic therapist and person.
Ideal clients
I am well positioned to work with average to higher functioning adolescents and adults. I am bilingual in Spanish, and can provide therapy in said language. I am also sensitive to disability and multicultural concerns, and consider myself to be a strong ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Behavioral therapies (ACT, CBT, DBT) make up my primary therapeutic frameworks, Motivational Interviewing is what carries me through those frameworks, and being Solution-focused is my end goal in my sessions, all the while being Person-centered throughout my counseling relationships.
