New to Grow
I’m Catrina Cryer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and retired military veteran. I currently work as a renal social worker in a dialysis setting, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds who are navigating emotional challenges, life transitions, and chronic health concerns. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based, focused on helping clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, supportive therapeutic relationship. We will review your current concerns, relevant history, and what led you to seek therapy, while also discussing your goals and expectations for treatment. I will take time to answer your questions, explain the therapy process, and collaborate with you on next steps. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready for—our work will move at a pace that feels safe and respectful. The goal of the first session is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and confident in moving forward together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths include creating a calm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and supported. As a retired military veteran, I bring a strong foundation of discipline, resilience, adaptability, and respect for diverse life experiences, which allows me to connect effectively with individuals navigating stress, transitions, and emotional challenges. In my role as a renal social worker in a dialysis setting, I integrate a medical and mental health perspective that supports clients managing chronic illness, depression, anxiety, and complex life changes. I work from a strengths-based, collaborative approach, helping clients identify resilience, build practical coping skills, and gain insight that supports meaningful, sustainable change. I utilize evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, offering a balanced style that is both compassionate and goal-oriented.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life who are experiencing emotional challenges, life transitions, or periods of stress and adjustment. My ideal clients may be navigating depression, anxiety, self-identity concerns, self-worth and self-esteem, relationship changes, career shifts, medical or chronic health conditions, or other life stressors that impact emotional well-being. I am well suited to support clients who are seeking a safe, supportive, and collaborative space to explore their experiences, build coping skills, and strengthen resilience. Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply seeking additional emotional support during a life transition, I am committed to meeting you where you are and supporting meaningful growth and healing.
