LPCC, 9 years of experience

Hi! I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in forensic counseling from Walden University, and I’ve been practicing for five years but have been in the mental health field for 9. I am also a Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider (C-PD) and TEAM-CBT Level 1 certified. I support adolescents, young adults, and adults in building practical skills and tools to foster self-acceptance and a more satisfying life. I also work with couples to strengthen communication, deepen connection, and collaborate more effectively—especially when parenting together. If you have Kaiser insurance, please request services through Kaiser before scheduling with me; they will provide the steps for booking.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then explore the specific struggles you're facing. This will help us collaborate on a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I will conclude the initial session by explaining the different treatment method(s) I will be utilizing to best meet your specific needs.
Having worked in environments with clients of various severities of struggles, I've developed my skills in creating a flexible style to match each client. I have developed the skills to help clients (a) identify the root of their challenges, (2) identify motivations and values to help work through the cause(s), and (3) create a personalized plan that leads to measurable progress. My goal is to allow my clients to transition out of therapy with confidence and have tools and skills for long-term success.
I enjoy working with individuals that struggle with mood and emotional regulation. My clients may struggle with their thoughts and emotions but are eager to improve. While motivation may waver, they are willing to explore how to bring their motivation back.
When I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I primarily draw on TEAM-CBT. I hold Level 1 certification and plan to complete Levels 2 and 3 within the next year. TEAM-CBT is designed to build self-awareness and to help you positively reframe difficult emotions and thoughts through structured techniques. These methods can shift how you view your negative thoughts and emotions and support the development of more balanced, constructive thoughts, which often reduces the impact of negative beliefs. Research indicates that TEAM-CBT can deliver strong long-term outcomes and may achieve results more quickly than some other approaches. In practice, I use CBT to teach coping and grounding skills, clarify common thinking distortions, and illustrate how thoughts influence behavior. This approach frequently includes brief, targeted homework between sessions.
I utilize this treatment method to help clients build skills to manage the emotions that affect their behaviors. These skills include distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotion regulation, and how to develop improved relationships. This treatment method can often include a small amount of homework, including completing a daily diary card.
I utiilze this treatment method to help clients identify their values, which can help boost their motivations and build more satisfaction and acceptance in their life. I often integrate this into my CBT and DBT treatment methods.
At times, finding motivations for long-term change can be hard. I utilize this treatment method to help find that strong motivation that will help create and maintain lasting change.
I will integrate the various treatment methods to best match each unique client.
