Nadia Cheddie
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am dedicated to supporting individuals who are ready to take that important first step toward their mental health recovery. My ideal client is someone open to growth, willing to explore their experiences, and motivated to create meaningful change in their life. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel supported and heard. Together we will identify challenges, build on your strengths, and develop practical strategies to help you move forward with confidence. Whether you are navigating anxiety, life transitions, or emotional difficulties, I will be with you every step of the way.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and for you to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you. I want you to feel comfortable sharing your story in a space where you will be listened to without judgment. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. You do not need to have everything organized or know exactly what to say. We can start wherever feels most comfortable for you. I will listen carefully and help us begin identifying the concerns, patterns, strengths, and goals that are most important to you. Most importantly, I want you to leave your first session feeling heard and respected—not as though you have been judged or given a list of things you need to “fix.” Therapy is not about changing who you are. It is about understanding yourself more deeply, recognizing your strengths, and developing tools that can help you navigate life with greater confidence and peace. My hope is that from our very first conversation, you begin to feel that you do not have to navigate everything alone. Taking that first step can be difficult, but it can also be the beginning of something meaningful.
Strengths
One of the greatest strengths I bring to my sessions is my ability to genuinely listen. I believe people want to feel heard and understood before they can begin to feel comfortable opening up and creating change. I strive to create a space where you can be honest about what you are experiencing without fear of judgment. I also bring compassion, patience, and empathy to my work. I understand that everyone’s journey is different, and I never want a person to feel rushed or pressured to move at a pace that does not feel right for them. I meet my clients where they are and work collaboratively to help them identify what they need and what they hope to achieve. Another strength I bring is my ability to help people recognize strengths they may not see in themselves. Sometimes, when we are overwhelmed by anxiety, sadness, trauma, or life circumstances, it can be difficult to see beyond the moment. I enjoy helping clients step back, gain perspective, and discover that they have more resilience and ability to cope than they may realize. Most importantly, I bring authenticity. I am not here to tell you how you should live your life. I am here to listen, support, challenge you when appropriate, and walk alongside you as you navigate your journey. My hope is that each session leaves you feeling heard, respected, and a little more hopeful about what is possible.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to take that first step toward feeling better, even if they are not completely sure what that step looks like yet. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, discouraged, stuck, or simply tired of trying to manage everything on your own. You may be going through a difficult life transition, struggling with relationships, processing past experiences, or trying to understand emotions that have become difficult to manage. You may also be someone who has spent a long time putting everyone else first and is finally realizing that your own emotional well-being deserves attention too. I especially value working with individuals who are open to self-reflection and willing to explore the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be affecting their lives. You do not have to come to therapy with all the answers, and you certainly do not have to know exactly what is “wrong.” Sometimes, you simply know that something needs to change. That is enough. I believe therapy works best when it is a partnership. I will bring compassion, honesty, patience, and support, while you bring your own experiences, goals, and willingness to take that first step. My hope is to help you feel safe enough to be your authentic self, while supporting you as you build greater confidence, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful change in your life.
