New to Grow
Hi, I’m Kelli, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, substance use treatment, and correctional environments, which has given me a broad understanding of different life experiences and stressors. I’m known for being supportive, down-to-earth, and direct. I strive to create a space where you can be open and honest, while also helping you better understand your patterns and develop practical tools you can use in your daily life. I believe therapy should not only be a place to talk, but also a place to grow, gain clarity, and make meaningful changes. My goal is to help you feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your life. Outside of my work, I value time to recharge and believe in the importance of balance, which I also encourage for my clients.
During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, background, and what you’re hoping to get out of the process. We’ll also begin identifying patterns, stressors, and goals so we can create a plan that feels realistic and helpful for you. You’ll have space to ask questions and share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to cover everything all at once.
My greatest strengths include creating a space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and able to be open, while also providing clear guidance and direction. Clients often describe me as approachable, genuine, and down-to-earth, which helps build trust and makes it easier to talk about difficult topics. I balance being supportive with being direct, helping clients not only feel heard but also gain insight and practical tools for change. With over 12 years of experience, I’m able to adapt my approach to meet each client’s needs while still keeping therapy focused and effective.
I work best with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or emotionally drained. Many of my clients are used to being the “strong one” for others, but are finding it harder to manage anxiety, irritability, or constant overthinking. They often want practical tools to feel more in control, improve their mood, and better manage day-to-day stress. I also support clients who are working through past experiences that continue to impact their current emotional well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify patterns in their thoughts that may be increasing anxiety, stress, or low mood. Together, we work on challenging unhelpful thinking and replacing it with more balanced, realistic perspectives. I also focus on practical strategies you can use between sessions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate DBT skills to help clients better manage intense emotions, reduce reactivity, and improve relationships. This includes building skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. My goal is to help you respond to situations more effectively rather than feeling overwhelmed.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being open about your experiences. I believe in meeting you where you are and working at your pace, while helping you gain clarity and insight into your thoughts and emotions.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use a solution-focused approach to help you identify what’s already working and build on your strengths. We focus on setting realistic goals and creating practical steps to move forward, rather than staying stuck in the problem.
Integrative
I take an integrative approach, meaning I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. I draw from evidence-based techniques to help you better understand yourself, develop coping skills, and make meaningful changes.
