Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my master’s degree from CSULB and did my internship at the Long Beach Trauma Recovery Center where I was trained in multiple modalities related to trauma, depression, and anxiety disorders. I was later hired by the trauma center where I completed my hours for licensure. After becoming licensed, I started my own private practice and have been in private practice for 5 years.
For our first session, you can expect an intake session. It is important to get all of the necessary information needed to make a good case formulation to provide you with the best treatment. Here, I will also answer any questions or concerns you may have and collaboratively choose which therapy treatment would be the best fit.
I believe my most important core values are treating people with respect, honesty, and love. We are all different with different values and beliefs and come from different backgrounds but as long as we lead with respect, honesty and love we are able to hold a safe space for processing and connection.
I love working with individuals who are willing and open to the idea of change. Change is never easy nor is it linear, but it does happen with time and dedication. I like to work collaboratively with my clients to support them in their growth process and to help them reach their fullest potential.

CBT increases our ability to analyze a situation and come up with a more positive outlook. Our thoughts affect our behavior and our actions and with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, together we can use this treatment method to challenge the negative thoughts and learn new coping skills. In session, I will provide worksheets that pertain to our topic in order to help us further process our thoughts and feelings as well as assign them as homework, so the progress continues outside of our sessions.
I use PET when working with trauma survivors in order to help them process and overcome their trauma. PET helps clients separate the emotion that is attached to the traumatic memory. We are not able to erase our memories, but we can decrease the intensity of the emotion that is associated with the traumatic memory. Together, I would guide the client to recall their traumatic memory while using the tools learned in session to decrease the intensity of their emotion. Prior to beginning the exposure, I would provide tools to help the client deal with the intensity of their emotions as well as tools that they can use outside of session. This type of therapy is not for everyone, and we would collaboratively decide which therapy would best fit your needs and what you feel comfortable with.
I use NET to help clients process their traumatic experiences. The NET modality is helpful when you have experienced multiple traumatic events in your lifetime. Together, we create a timeline of your life with positive and negative impactful memories and then together, choose which memories would be important to process. This method is definitely helpful for those who love to write and who like to be creative with their writing, but it can also be a new and positive experience for someone who has never written about their life story.
I use DBT to help increase self-awareness as well as help you develop a way to be more mindful of your emotions and your body's experiences. I also use DBT to help you live in the present moment. A lot of our issues are based on future or past problems and being present in the here and now provides us a space to enjoy what is in front of us as well as helps us deal with the current issues, issues we have control over.
