New to Grow
I believe that many of us possess the solutions to the challenges we face, but may need a little extra help in getting to the finish line. My background is in clinical mental health and school counseling. This experience allows me to utilize multiple techniques, including client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness to help empower you along your life’s journey. I also believe in the power of getting our body moving and the positive reaction this can have on our mindset.
I generally start with introducing myself and seeing what questions you have about me. You have to make sure that I'm a good fit for addressing your needs. I'll ask a variety of questions about you and your background. Together, we will decide on your goals and treatment timeline. I'm up front with who I am and value honesty in a therapeutic relationship.
I am a Christian-based therapist and will give you actual tools and resources that you can use to empower yourself. I may challenge you to try things that might be out of your comfort zone. Stay committed to the process and you will start to see change.
I appreciate that you are taking the first step to engage in therapy, and view it as a strength. Many people are struggling, but you are choosing to be active in your self-care and facilitating improvement to your quality of life. My goal is to create a safe environment where we both can be honest and genuine. I pledge to strive to meet you where you are, while challenging you to reach your goals. I engage in short-term therapy for clients who are willing to do the work. There will be some homework but it is used as a tool to help you continue growing after your time with me has come to a close.
Christian Counseling
I use a Christian-based framework when approaching personal concerns, and apply mindfulness-based practices to keep clients grounded and able to tackle what is in front of them.
