My name is Leah and I have been a social worker for 10 years. I have worked with a variety of populations and have a lot of experience working with children and adults. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and solution-focused strategies. Alongside my private practice work, I have seven years of experience as a school adjustment counselor supporting elementary-aged students and their families in navigating emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, the client will have the opportunity to share what they would like to work on and what they are hoping to gain from therapy. The session will also include intake questions to gather information about the client’s background and history.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I provide a client-centered and strengths-based therapeutic approach that I use to create a safe and supportive environment for the client. I will encourage open communication, active listening, and collaboration to help the client identify concerns, build coping strategies, and develop problem-solving skills.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

With nearly a decade of clinical experience, I specialize in treating adults and children managing anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, and mood disorders.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. I work together with my clients to recognize negative thought patterns, challenge distorted thinking, and replace it with more balanced perspectives. I also teach my clients healthy coping skills.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Help my clients identify their strengths and build solutions rather than concentrating on problems. I ask goal-oriented questions to help the client imagine what life would look like if the problem were resolved.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Help my clients develop a greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations in the present moment.
