Mariah Davis

LPC (she/her)10 years of experience

Welcome, friend! I'm so glad you've found this page! Let me share a little about myself: I've been working as a therapist for 10+ years. I've been trained in CBT and EMDR interventions for a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, and trauma. I view setting goals as a great way to stay on the same page and measure progress as you walk your wellbeing journey.

First session

The first session will focus on getting to know each other and creating an understanding of your therapy goals.

Strengths

I'm a relationship-focused person. I also believe its important to identify thought patterns and challenge unhelpful beliefs/behavior.

Ideal clients

My goal in life is to be curious, not judgmental and I enjoy sharing that vision with my clients. I love when a client comes into therapy with an open mind and willingness to try new things! If you're curious about therapy at all, I encourage you to try it out. It can be fun to work towards wellness goals with someone who challenges you to have a new perspective.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I love that CBT is a practical approach to therapy - it uses homework assignments and measurable goals to evaluate progress and achieve the results that you're aiming for. It helps build coping skills and strategies that apply to every-day life situations.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy that helps the brain reprocess information and memories. It can be used to help overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, and other struggles. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as tapping, while the person briefly focuses on the an identified target memory.
