Life in Progress exists for women who appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside, the ones who are always the strong one, always holding it together for everyone else. Our mission is simple: help you work through anxiety and depression, understand how they connect to your body and your physical health, and build a life that feels as fulfilling on the inside as it looks from the outside. Our approach is grounded in research, but you won't need a clinical background to understand it. We work with your thoughts, your body, and the patterns underneath both, because the two are never really separate. Chronic stress and unprocessed emotion show up physically, in sleep, energy, immunity, and chronic illness, and we pay attention to that connection rather than treating the mind and body as two different conversations.

Therapy that works with your thoughts and your body.

This practice welcomes women from all backgrounds who carry the specific weight of always being the strong one, the ones everyone else leans on. Every session brings together clinical expertise and a genuine understanding of what that weight feels like.

First session

You don’t need to have the right words for what you’re feeling. In our sessions, we’ll slow down, notice what’s happening in your body, and build practical skills you can use between sessions. I bring structure and active tools to our work, so you’ll leave with something to practice and a clearer sense of what helps.

Strengths

I built this practice for ambitious women carrying an exhaustion most people in their lives never see, the ones who've been strong for everyone else for so long they no longer know what it feels like to be held themselves. I bring more than nine years of clinical experience, an Education Specialist degree in Counseling, and evidence-based approaches translated into plain language, without jargon and without judgment. Life in Progress is named for what healing has looked like in my own life: something that unfolds over time, in ordinary days, while you're still becoming. If any part of this sounds like you, I want you to know: this is not the end, and you do not have to figure it out alone.

Ideal clients

You may be someone who looks like they have it together from the outside while your body tells a different story. Maybe it’s the tight chest before a meeting, the stomach trouble that shows up during stressful weeks, the headaches, the restless sleep, or the exhaustion that rest doesn’t seem to fix. You’ve noticed that worry and low mood live in your body as much as your thoughts, and you’re ready to understand that connection. Many of the people I work with are high-achieving adults who carry a lot of responsibility at work and at home. Some are caregivers, leaders, or helping professionals, including therapists who want a space of their own. Others are navigating a life transition and finding that the old ways of coping have stopped working.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and body affect each other, and gives you practical ways to change what’s keeping you stuck. A lot of people first notice anxiety or sadness in their body: a racing heart, a knot in the stomach, tight shoulders, or feeling worn out all the time. That’s where we begin. We’ll pay attention to what your body is telling you, then look at the worries behind those feelings and the thoughts you carry about yourself that keep those worries going. Once we see those thoughts clearly, we’ll work on changing them. You’ll learn to notice when your mind jumps to the worst, check whether those thoughts are really true, and find more balanced ways to see things. Along with simple ways to calm your body, these skills help the worry ease and your body relax.

Somatic

Somatic therapy focuses on the body. Stress, worry, and sadness often show up physically before we can put them into words, like tension in your neck, a heavy chest, stomach trouble, or trouble sleeping. In our sessions, I’ll help you slow down and notice what’s happening in your body without judging it. You’ll learn to recognize your early signs of stress so you can respond sooner, before it builds into something bigger. We’ll also practice simple ways to help your body settle, such as slowing your breath, relaxing tight muscles, and feeling more grounded in the present moment. These are skills you can use anywhere, whether you’re at work, at home, or lying awake at night. Over time, your body becomes a helpful guide. As you learn to listen to it and calm it, many people find their thoughts feel clearer and their worry feels more manageable.
