(he/him)
I am Charles Zaglin a Trauma, Complex Trauma, and PTSD LPC with 30+ years of experience as a Traumatologist and over 55 years as a PTSD/Trauma survivor. My style is empathic, eclectic, honest, humorous, and interactive. Together we will tailor a protocol to fit your needs. I believe in ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and ACCEPTANCE. With regards to PTSD and Trauma, I take on a four "C" approach. That being "Control, Courage, and Compassion, and Choice." We will acknowledge your trauma without judgement, guilt, shame, fear, or self-blame and accept what happened but not let it identify or define us.
In our first session together, we will begin to get to know each other, the issues that you are facing and the best modality to use to bring about the healing process. Building of trust between myself and the client is so important as a predictor for an ongoing positive relationship. Also, if it is determined to be helpful in the healing process I give Homework Assignments. "YAY!"

I most enjoy working with clients who are dealing with areas of Trauma, Complex Trauma and PTSD Survivors. Also those individuals not suffering from PTSD but who are battling symptoms from depression, anxiety, night terrors while sleeping, alcohol and drug dependence, as well as relationship issues as it pertains to loved ones and friends. This may include alcohol and drug use, communication issues within a family or friend relationship. Work related issues, infidelity issues in romantic relationships, divorce issues, parenting concerns, financial issues as they apply to the individual and or mutiple person obligations. Grief and loss issues concerning the loss of family, friends, and fur-children alike. I expect a lot out of myself and thus I expect a great deal out of the comprehensive thoughts and actions of my clients. Thought without action are simply ideas which stay in our mind. We must take our valuable insight, disclosure and realization and place these realizations into actions. To help us help ourselves. To ask for help when needed but just as important is to be willing to help ourselves. Change comes from within aided by those around us if possible. However, change can happen even if we are alone as long as the desire is there. What expectations do I have for my clients. COMMUNICATION!!! Being truthful and honest while in session. Further, if you cannot make a session you must inform me within 24 hours before the session was to begin. If you choose not to attend any further sessions. Send me a message stating that you will not be attending any more sessions and to take you off my scheduling list. These are responsibilities that each client must adhere too. *Please remember that a successful therapeutic outcome does not come by the wave of a magic wand. Often times there are years which must be taken into account to help explain what the individual is going through in the here and now. With this in mind, a person "must" make a commitment to follow-up sessions, being on time, completing homework asssignments when given, staying in contact with the therapist, and have the dedication necessary for a successful outcome.*
An effective therapist must be able to custom fit a treatment method to meet the needs of the individual. From Cognitive Behavioral to Client-Centered and everything in between. An effective therapist must be able to match his style with whatever works best for the client.
