New to Grow
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re carrying something difficult and looking for support. You don’t have to navigate it alone. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and reaching out for support is often one of the hardest parts of the process, but you are taking that first step now. I’m glad you’re here and willing to give yourself the opportunity to explore positive change. I am a licensed mental health professional with over 12 years of experience working with individuals across a variety of settings, including outpatient mental health clinics, correctional facilities, county jails, state prisons, and mobile community-based treatment teams. I also have extensive experience working with individuals experiencing acute mental health crises and am well-versed in the psychiatric hospitalization process and the challenges that can accompany severe mental health symptoms. My approach is compassionate, open-minded, and nonjudgmental. I believe that every person has a unique story, and I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, problematic behaviors, or simply feeling stuck, I am committed to meeting you where you are and helping you work toward the goals that matter most to you. Together, we will build on your strengths, develop practical tools for managing challenges, and create a path toward meaningful and lasting change.
Many clients feel nervous about their first therapy session, which is completely normal. Your first session is simply a chance for us to start getting to know one another. We’ll talk about what led you to seek therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, and what you hope life might look like if things were going better. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and free from judgment. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive, and there is no expectation that you’ll share your entire story in one session. We’ll take things one step at a time and work together to determine the best path forward based on your unique needs and goals.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to create a genuine, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. With more than 12 years of experience working in outpatient mental health clinics, correctional settings, mobile community teams, and alongside individuals experiencing psychiatric crises, I have had the privilege of supporting people from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences. I believe that every person has a unique story, and I approach each client with curiosity, compassion, and respect. My goal is to meet clients where they are, helping them feel heard and understood while working collaboratively toward meaningful change. I recognize that seeking help can be difficult, and I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe exploring challenges, strengths, and goals at their own pace. My approach balances empathy with practical, evidence-based strategies. I enjoy helping clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, navigate life’s challenges, and build on the strengths they already possess. Whether someone is facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or more complex concerns, I believe that lasting change is possible when clients feel supported, empowered, and accepted throughout the process. I also have unique experience working with individuals struggling with problematic sexual behaviors, compulsive sexual behaviors, and those who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors. I recognize that these concerns can be difficult to talk about, and I strive to provide a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics. Together, we work to better understand behavioral patterns, identify contributing factors, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen self-regulation skills, and promote meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to help clients move forward with greater self-awareness, accountability, and confidence in their ability to make positive changes in their lives.
I have a particular interest in working with young professionals navigating life transitions, individuals living with serious mental illness, and those with a history of psychiatric hospitalization. I also have experience supporting individuals who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors, as well as those involved in the legal or criminal justice system. Additionally, I welcome the opportunity to work with first responders and law enforcement professionals, recognizing the unique challenges and stressors that can accompany these roles. I am also passionate about working with individuals who are seeking counseling for the first time and strive to create a supportive, approachable environment that helps make the therapy process feel comfortable and accessible.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps us explore how the way we think affects how we feel and act. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop realistic, effective strategies to help you feel more confident, balanced, and in control of your life.
Forensic Psychology
I am comfortable working with individuals experiencing compulsive sexual behaviors, sexual addiction concerns, problematic pornography use, and those who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors. Using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and principles of forensic psychology, I help clients better understand behavioral patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, improve self-regulation, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
Motivational Interviewing
I also utilize Motivational Interviewing, a collaborative approach that helps clients explore and strengthen their own motivation for change. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you to understand your goals, identify barriers, and resolve any mixed feelings you may have about making changes. This approach helps build confidence, increase motivation, and support lasting progress in areas that are important to you.
Trauma Informed Care
I provide trauma-informed care, which means I recognize the impact that past experiences can have on a person’s thoughts, emotions, relationships, and overall well-being. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where clients feel respected, heard, and in control of their therapeutic journey. Together, we will work at a pace that feels comfortable while building skills for healing and growth.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Many people feel pulled in different directions by competing thoughts, emotions, or needs. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help clients explore these different parts of themselves with curiosity rather than judgment. This process can lead to greater self-understanding, emotional healing, and a stronger connection to one’s authentic self.
