About me

Life has a way of bringing challenges we aren't always prepared for, whether that is a health crisis, the weight of grief, the stress of caregiving or simply the accumulated pressure of to much for too long. If your navigating something difficult and looking for steady experienced support, I'm here. I'm Robin, a licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York with over 35 years of experience, including a background in health care working with individuals and families facing serious medical challenges. That experience has given me a deep understanding of how illness, loss and life transitions affect not just our circumstances but our sense of ourselves. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship issues, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, Client-centered, and collaborative. Together we will identify your goals and strengths and build a practical plan for navigating what's in front of you, at a pace that feels right for you. I work with clients who are 16 and over either in person or through telehealth sessions

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I provide in person or telehealth sessions in a private safe compassionate environment. The first session will be focused on getting to know you and establishing the frequency of our sessions. We will work collaboratively as a team to identify your own personal goals and strengths.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use a compassionate and client centered approach. I treat each of my clients and their families individually. I will introduce Cognitive behavioral therapy as an approach to taking responsibility and controlling our own actions. We will explore how other behaviors. affect us and what we can do individually to start focusing on making small changes for ourselves.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with clients over the age of 16 , Young professionals, middle age and older adults who are all experiencing life transitions. Sessions will be focused on goal oriented tasks and setting realistic boundaries. Client's should be motivated for therapy and willing to do the necessary work. We will address individual concerns and work toward realistic therapy goals together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will explore your thoughts and feelings helping you to identify your individual behaviors and how they effect those around you. We are often unable to control other peoples behaviors around us but will learn how to take greater responsibility for our own. Over time we will work on accepting responsibility for your own actions and work on setting healthy boundaries.

Compassion Focused

I use a compassionate and client centered approach. I encourage each client to identify their own personal strengths, and develop effective treatment strategies that align with your individual goals that will help you to find a healthier, happier quality of life.
