I offer online counseling to help adults recover from childhood wounds. These issues can present as depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and interpersonal challenges. I approach counseling as an opportunity to understand your story and help you develop a path to healing. It's human nature to want healthy relationships, meaningful work and activities you enjoy, to have a good quality of life. If you're experiencing ineffective communication skills, career dissatisfaction, parenting challenges, family/relationship stress or feelings overwhelm, I would be glad to help you improve upon these problems. I utilize the following models of treatment depending on the needs of each individual: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Mindfulness Interventions. I studied psychology at the University of Georgia, obtaining a B.A. in psychology in 1998. Later in my career, I obtained a Master of Social Work from Valdosta State University in 2011. I became fully licensed in 2015. I understand that life can throw you. some curve balls. My desire to help others improve their quality of life led to a career spanning twenty years.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In first session, I'll identify the purpose of therapy and what you can expect. We'll discuss expectations and explore your needs and goals. It's important to understand that therapy is an active process and strategies need to be practiced in between sessions. Also be aware that progress is not linear but you can re-engage to improve your quality of life.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Together we will use the following models of treatment to improve your emotional & mental health: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Mindfulness Interventions. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Mindfulness Interventions. It's beneficial to reinforce our therapy sessions with workbooks, self-help books, movement/exercise, journaling and mindfulness activities to truly actualize the change you want in your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is that I believe in our own, unique ability to heal. I've supported people on their journeys for twenty-three years and know for a fact, it can be done. The right therapist feels like a supportive accountability partner. Progress happens when you take action consistently. You do not have to be stuck in your past. Change can happen.
