Karel Winner
Having had the opportunity to live, work, and study across four different continents and travel to over 100 countries, I’ve gained a rich and diverse perspective on the world. These experiences have deepened my understanding of different cultures and their unique qualities, helping me develop a strong sense of cultural sensitivity.
These experiences have deepened my understanding of different cultures and their unique qualities, helping me develop a strong sense of cultural sensitivity.
I cherish every interaction, embracing the many ways of life I've encountered with openness and respect. This background inspires my sincere commitment to providing caring and personalized support, creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels understood, valued, and empowered on their path to mental wellness.
First session
My approach isn’t about rushing through appointments or quick fixes. Instead, I focus on providing caring, personalized support that combines medication management with solution-focused therapy. This way, you can relax and truly explore your thoughts, often making meaningful progress without even realizing it during each session. You’ll also benefit from my extensive medical experience, developed over many years of patient care, and driven by my genuine desire to support you. This journey isn’t just empowering; it’s about discovering your own potential. When you work with me, you’re choosing more than a provider; you’re gaining a dedicated partner whose knowledge and compassion will help you move toward healing and self-understanding.
Strengths
I'm here to create a comforting space where you can explore even the most sensitive topics with ease, often so smoothly that you might not even notice you're doing it. My main focus is working alongside you to find solutions for ongoing challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to help you wake up each morning feeling peaceful, so you can truly enjoy your day rather than just getting through it.
Ideal clients
I excel when managing mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and ADHD, serving patients of all ages. Using a solution-focused approach, I am dedicated to rapidly improving my patients' well-being. My deep understanding and application of trauma-informed care allow me to skillfully navigate complex cases and deliver results.
Treatment methods
Integrative
My main focus is MEDICATION MANAGEMENT, which I combine with brief solution-focused therapy. When appropriate, I also include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (to help with anxiety and depression) and Exposure Response Prevention (for OCD). I am proudly trained as an Official Level 3 Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist through the IFS Institute, and I offer this approach alongside medication management for some clients. At the moment, I am welcoming new clients specifically for MEDICATION MANAGEMENT and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Brief Solution-Focused Therapy is a warm, supportive approach that's designed to help you concentrate on your successes and discover easy, practical steps towards achieving your goals. We’ll partner together to leverage your strengths and make positive changes that truly matter to you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Through CBT, we identify thoughts and behaviors and modify your emotional responses to negative thoughts and feelings.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I'm currently not taking new IFS clients at the moment. However, when an IFS appointment slot opens up, I'll be happy to offer it on a first-come, first-served basis. This type of therapy focuses on helping you reconnect with yourself, and many find it a truly extraordinary experience as they discover their inner energy.
