Hello! My name is Emily. I am dusky licensed both a LCSW and a LCAC. I strive to ensure that all people feel heard, respected, and supported while giving everyone I meet the space to experience their emotions and be their authentic selves.
I pride myself in showing up both professionally but also as an authentic, genuine person.
It is an honor to navigate through struggle with people and be there to celebrate with them as they achieve their goals. I’m excited to help you become your best self!
First session
The first session will be very easy going. I will give you the space to just share who you are, what your goals are, and what you’re looking for in terms of therapy. We can review your self assessments together and I will ask helpful questions along the way.
Strengths
I pride myself in showing up both professionally but also as an authentic, genuine person. I’ve helped many people reach their goals and maintain recovery in all forms. My greatest strengths include my abilities to truly listen, be empathetic, and be the safe space for the clients I serve.
Ideal clients
I am open to working with almost anyone. I have a wide variety of knowledge and have long time experience within the field of therapy where I am able to be fluid in what needs addressed. I do prefer adults and am well versed in family/couples therapy as well. I’m just looking for participation not perfection! Whatever your therapy goals are I’m willing to take the route that gets you the best results.
Treatment methods
Trauma Informed Care
I’m highly trained in trauma informed care and truly believe that healing trauma allows healing in all other aspects of life. I ensure that your session will be safe, kind, and gentle while working through traumas.
EMDR
If you are a good candidate, we can utilize Emdr to work through traumas.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is at the heart of treatment that I provide. This looks mostly like just talking conversations.
