Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in California and I've been practicing for 16 years. I graduated with my master's degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Utah. I strive to provide an atmosphere of safety and warmth where individuals can heal without fear of judgment. We will build a therapeutic relationship of trust and as a team, create a plan that feels right for your journey.
In our first session together, we'll start with introductions and I'll cover information related to your privacy and confidentiality in therapy, which is of upmost importance to me. You are welcome to ask me any questions about my practice or the therapeutic process and I'm happy to provide some guidance on how the therapeutic process works. I would also love to hear about your life history, though you are welcome to open up at your own pace and never feel obligated to share things you're not ready to share.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to build a safe and comfortable relationship with individuals and help them feel empowered to address the issues they might otherwise have a strong urge to avoid. I believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and the good that comes from individuals having a nonjudgmental space to share.
I am trained in EMDR and practice from a trauma informed perspective. My skills are especially suited to helping individuals to process early formative experiences that have left them feeling stuck in the past and wounded by relationships with parents. If your life has been affected by a parent or loved one with narcissism or BPD, please reach out!
I have been trained in EMDR and use this technique to help individuals to develop their self-soothing capacities and to process through trauma that causes them to relive or feel stuck in the past.
I use CBT as a tool to identify core beliefs, particularly negative beliefs about the self, that are interfering with the ability to experience self love and compassion.
I find mindfulness techniques to be an integral part of developing an individual's capacity to live in the moment without getting carried away by traumas of the past or fears of the future.
