I am a marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of experience I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life changes, career challenges, and ADHD. I also earned a research based, nonclinical PhD in Family Relations from Florida State University. It takes courage to step forward and try to change your life. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you. I am currently only accepting individuals and not families or couples as new clients. I look forward to working with you!
The first question that I ask is what brings you to therapy? Therapy is for you, and certainly I guide you and help you figure out solutions for things in your life, but I meet you where you are at. You set the goals for what you want to achieve in therapy. You may not be sure what you want or what the goals are, and I help you figure that out as well,
Being real. I am. here to help you and help guide you. Being relatable, and down to Earth, and I have a lot of lived experience which helps me have empathy and really relate to where you're at. I've been there!
Adults- I find I really work best with women though I do see some men. I have a real interest and ability to really relate to women from their 20s to their 50s in exploring life in general, navigating family relationships, hailing heartbreak and finding love, being able to be more assertive at work, be able to figure out what you want next in life and what you would like to see change. If you're struggling with setting boundaries and speaking up for yourself, if you feel low in your self confidence and is self esteem, if you have a hard time saying no without guilt, and if you feel like you don't have a voice in your own life in the way that you would like, I may be a great fit for you.
I use CBT to help my clients better manage their anxiety
I also use solution focused therapy to help clients weight their options, formulate goals, and develop objectives to achieve changes.
