New to Grow
I consider myself a "cardigan" counselor: Warm, compassionate, and practical. I graduated with a Masters in Counseling from Columbia International University in 2008 with the goal of working with clients to find solutions to problems interfering with their life and mental wellbeing. It is a privilege to bring hope to clients struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss and more. You are not alone!
I will check in to better understand what you would like to gain from counseling. We will discuss some of the forms and assessments that you completed. We will set goals that you would like to work towards with my assistance.
I am approachable, encouraging and patient. You are not alone in this journey to feeling better! We will monitor your feelings, goals and overall satisfaction with your progess.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT has been a longstanding practical, evidence-based approach to identify unhelpful thoughts and feelings that lead to negative or distressing behaviors. The client and I work together to address problematic thoughts, feelings and behaviors, create goals meaningful to the client, and then utilize helpful coping skill and tools to improve the client’s quality of life.
