New to Grow
Life can feel overwhelming at times, whether you are dealing with anxiety, going through a big change, feeling burned out, or stuck in old habits. Therapy offers a place to pause, find clarity, and learn practical tools for lasting change. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who helps adults understand themselves, improve their emotional health, and build better relationships. My style is warm, collaborative, and sensitive to your background and experiences. I create a safe space where you feel heard and accepted. Together, we will identify what is holding you back and develop a treatment plan that aligns with your strengths, values, and goals. I use proven methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. If you are facing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or big life changes, we will work together to build coping skills, manage emotions, and create lasting change. I also have experience with crisis intervention, LGBTQ+ affirming care, group therapy, and working with other professionals on your care. I became a therapist because I have seen how much a caring, supportive space can help people heal. Working in both schools and clinics has made me even more passionate about helping people from all backgrounds feel respected, empowered, and supported as they work toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. When I am not working, I like to read, visit bookstores and coffee shops, travel, make crafts, and spend time with my Cavapoo. These hobbies help me stay grounded and bring balance, curiosity, and mindfulness into my work with clients. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you do not have to do it alone. I would be honored to support you as you work toward healing, growth, and lasting well-being.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a relaxed, supportive environment. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any challenges you're facing. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, answer any questions you have, and work with you to create a personalized treatment plan. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
I bring warmth, authenticity, and a collaborative approach to every session. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable being yourself. My approach is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and tailored to your unique needs rather than a one-size-fits-all model. Using evidence-based practices like CBT and DBT, I help you build practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and develop resilience. My goal is to empower you with the tools and confidence to create meaningful, lasting change both in and outside of therapy.
I work best with adults who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. My ideal clients may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or life transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or looking to build healthier coping skills, I provide a supportive space to help you gain insight, strengthen resilience, and move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Other specialties
I identify as
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthy communication. In sessions, we work on identifying intense emotions, understanding triggers, and learning practical tools to respond more effectively rather than react impulsively. DBT skills are especially helpful for managing anxiety, mood swings, relationship challenges, and feelings of overwhelm, while supporting greater balance and stability in daily life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, or low self-esteem and replace them with more balanced, realistic perspectives. CBT is practical and goal-oriented, so you'll learn coping strategies and skills you can apply in everyday life to manage challenges, improve emotional well-being, and create lasting change.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I use culturally sensitive therapy by honoring each client’s background, identity, values, and lived experiences. I recognize how culture, family systems, and societal influences shape mental health, and I tailor treatment to reflect those factors. I strive to create a respectful, affirming space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported without judgment, and where their cultural identity is considered an important part of the healing process.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a Person-Centered (Rogerian) approach by creating a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be fully themselves. I focus on genuine connection, unconditional positive regard, and active listening, allowing clients to feel heard and understood. This foundation helps clients explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace while building self-awareness, confidence, and the capacity for personal growth and healing.
