I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in the social work field. I am a compassionate, collaborative and solution focused provider. I understand that the complexities of life have profound impacts on individuals and their abilities to manage their day to day lives. I work with individuals who are experiencing difficulty in managing work life balances, experiencing grief and navigating life with significant losses. I aim to provide individuals with a space to openly express their feelings, identify their goals for therapy and work towards establishing a plan to meet their self identified goals for treatment.
During the first session, I like to use the time for introductions and understanding of what brought the individual to pursue therapeutic support.
I am a very inviting, non judgmental soft spoken person. I enjoy listening to individuals express themselves for greater understanding.
I work with adults, young adults and teenagers who are have experienced a self identified loss. I work with parents and teens who are struggling with parent teen communication and I also work with individuals who are experiencing work stress, relationship issues or struggling with career planning and progression.
My experience with CBT treatment has been to work with clients on goal setting and focusing on the present. Recognizing and identifying triggers for behaviors and thoughts that the client identifies as wanting to change. I assist and facilitate clients to work towards shifting their thoughts and behaviors.
Ive used ACT therapy to assist clients sharing and addressing their current circumstance and in their development of mindfulness. I've provided assistance to clients in making positive choices despite their current circumstance.
Ive assisted clients by creating a nurturing and supportive enviornment to express their feelings related to grief and to develop coping strategies to manage the various symptoms of grief.
