New to Grow
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Hawaii with 5 years of professional work experience in a private practice setting. My focus points are helping clients with relationship issues, family and cultural conflicts, trauma and abuse, as well as anger management and substance abuse. I’ve worked within the mental health field in Hawaii for over 15 years and am committed to social justice, issues of poverty, violence and domestic violence, as well as sustainability. I work from a client centered approach and pull from different treatment modalities. I feel very honored for all my clients that allow me to walk alongside them on their journey. I provide care with kindness and thoughtfulness in a non-judgmental objective way to explore new perspectives on current and/or past issues. I am interested in helping you transform your relationships, overcome grief and trauma, and achieve overall life improvement. I believe that you are the expert of your own story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! A different type of therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has their unique story. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hawaii Pacific University and continued my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy with Argosy University in Hawaii. I have a Yoga Teacher Certificate, which allows me to incorporate bodily functions and Mindfulness Theories. Finally I got licensed in Hawaii as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2020.
In our first session, we will meet each other and I will give you an idea on how therapy can look like with me as well as question you about your reasons and desired outcomes.
I am very open and relatable. I deeply care for my patients and am fluid and flexible in treatment methods.
Individuals or couples that choose to be in therapy and are honest to address the rather darker aspects of life and personality. Non agressive individuals with an open mind towards flexible outcomes and trust in the process of therapeutic interventions leading to development. Patients that value and appreciate the flowing work of self discovery and psychoanalytical thinking towards one’s life and relationships.
