Darnae Lovett APRN, PMHNP-BC is a board certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and then earned her Master of Science degree from South University. Darnae then received her Post Master certificate in Psychiatric Health from Valdosta State University. She holds two national board certifications with the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners(AANP) as a Family Nurse practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse practitioner. Her passion for mental health began in 2014 working as a emergency room nurse. During that time she acquired a deeper understanding of people in their most vulnerable moments. This has allowed her to appreciate the challenges each client face. After graduating nurse practitioner school, her journey as a prescriber began in the Urgent Care. In that time she developed a new perspective on delivering care, using the holistic model to provide care. Darnae believes that delivering care using the holistic approach ensures full understanding of every client's journey and current needs. Her new perspective in delivering care led her back to primarily delivering care in the mental health settings that included: private practice and psychiatric hospitals. After four years of prescribing Darnae furthered her education in mental health by attending Valdosta State University for a post certificate Master's degree. There she embraced her true calling guiding others on their path to mental and emotional well being. Post graduation, she continues to provide psychiatric comprehensive assessments, medication management, and psychosocial therapy to clients experiencing psychiatric illness. Her specializations are ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar, PTSD and adjustment disorder for adult patients in Georgia and Washington State. I primarily do medication management however due to Georgia regulations I am unable to prescribe controlled substances (e.g. adderall, xanax, ambien).
