Thanks for checking out my profile! My goal is to help you live your life fully; no longer feeling bound by the experiences in your past. Our experiences change our brains. Family, relationships and trauma all affect how we perceive ourselves, others and our world. But just as trauma and other negative experiences can create patterns that can lead to anxiety, depression, anger, unhealthy relationships, addictions or underachievement...new experiences can change those patterns. I provide a safe, non-judgmental place to work with your memories, feelings and thoughts in new ways. Together we will work to create new experiences that change the patterns of your brain and of your life. My background in neuroscience gives me a deep understanding of how our brains work. I specialize in working with people affected by long-term stress, abuse, trauma and grief; as these experiences leave a deep impact on our brain and our lives. No two people are alike, and so there is not one standard treatment that will work for everybody. We will work together to find the therapeutic tools that work best for you. Some of the tools that I work with include: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy, reprocessing of memories and mindfulness. I am poly and kink-friendly and experienced in working with people in alternative lifestyles and relationships
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other a bit. For me to learn about what is bringing you into therapy, and for you to see what it’s like to work with me. It is a time to build hope for change and talk about ways that we might work together to create the changes you are looking for.
My background in neuroscience gives me a unique perspective on how stress and trauma can impact our brain and body, and also how new experiences can create positive change. I have 20 years of experience working with clients with all backgrounds. I have a lot of experience working with clients in non-traditional relationships and lifestyles and provide a safe, non-judgmental place where “all your parts are welcome”.
I work with adults (individuals and couples therapy) who are wanting to better understand the patterns of their feelings and reactions. People who may feel stuck or overwhelmed due to experiences of trauma, abuse or chronic stress. People who are wanting to live their lives more fully and authentically with greater self-acceptance, connection and joy!
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS allows you to change your relationship with your “parts” and feelings, working to turn toward your feelings and experiences with curiosity, acceptance and compassion. This allows for building trust in yourself, having more self-acceptance and deeper self understanding, and doing reparative work with experiences of trauma and hurt.
Couples Counseling
I enjoy working with couples to understand patterns in the relationship, work on changing bad spirals in relationships into positive spirals that build on strengths. And work on improving communication and trust. I am poly and BDSM/kink friendly to help people in all forms of relationships.
