Riki Clark
Hi, I’m Riki Clark, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing compassionate, collaborative mental health care for adolescents and adults. I specialize in medication management while also incorporating supportive therapy, CBT-based interventions, and practical coping strategies into sessions to provide a more comprehensive approach to treatment. I work with individuals experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, mood changes, and emotional overwhelm, with additional experience supporting healthcare workers and first responders navigating high-stress environments. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where patients feel comfortable, heard, and actively involved in their treatment plan.
First session
During our first session, we will spend time discussing your current concerns, symptoms, mental health history, medical history, stressors, and treatment goals in order to gain a more complete understanding of what you are experiencing. I strive to create a comfortable and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly and honestly at your own pace. Together, we will discuss potential treatment options, which may include medication management, supportive therapy interventions, coping strategies, lifestyle factors, and additional resources when appropriate. My goal is for you to leave the appointment feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer understanding of next steps moving forward.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a supportive, collaborative environment where patients feel comfortable being honest about what they are experiencing without fear of judgment. I take time to look at the full picture, including emotional health, stressors, lifestyle factors, sleep, medical concerns, and day-to-day functioning, rather than focusing only on symptoms alone. My approach combines thoughtful medication management with supportive therapy interventions, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies to help patients feel more emotionally balanced, functional, and confident in their treatment plan. I also value transparency and patient involvement in the decision-making process, as I believe treatment works best when patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care.
Ideal clients
I work best with adolescents and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, stress, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty managing day-to-day functioning. Many of the clients I work with are high functioning externally while internally feeling mentally exhausted, emotionally reactive, overstimulated, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel manageable. I also have experience working with healthcare workers, first responders, EMS, fire service, and law enforcement professionals who are navigating chronic stress, burnout, trauma exposure, sleep disruption, or the emotional demands that can come with high-pressure careers. I strive to create a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable being honest about what they are experiencing. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, improve emotional regulation and coping skills, and develop a treatment plan that supports both symptom improvement and overall quality of life.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I utilize supportive therapy throughout my practice to help patients process stressors, improve emotional regulation, strengthen coping skills, and navigate life transitions in a collaborative and nonjudgmental environment. My approach focuses on helping patients feel heard and understood while also identifying practical strategies to improve day-to-day functioning and overall mental wellness. I often integrate supportive therapy alongside medication management to provide more comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to help patients explore ambivalence, strengthen insight, and build confidence in making meaningful behavioral changes. This approach allows patients to feel supported rather than judged while collaboratively identifying goals related to mental health, coping, lifestyle habits, medication adherence, and overall wellness.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to help patients identify patterns between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, or difficulty functioning. I focus on helping patients develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional awareness, and build practical skills that can be applied in daily life alongside medication management when appropriate.
