My approach to counseling is faith-rooted, neuroscience-aware, and trauma-informed, recognizing the profound connection between emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual well-being. For clients who desire it, biblical principles are thoughtfully integrated with evidence-based therapeutic practices to support meaningful growth and healing. By understanding how the brain and nervous system respond to stress, adversity, and trauma, clients can develop practical skills that foster resilience, emotional regulation, and lasting change. Counseling is a collaborative process tailored to each client's unique circumstances, strengths, and goals. Together, we work to increase self-awareness, clarify personal values, and cultivate healthier patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating. Whether addressing the impact of past experiences, navigating anxiety or life transitions, strengthening family relationships, or pursuing personal growth, treatment is guided by compassion, respect, and clinical excellence.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first counseling appointment is designed to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where clients can begin sharing their story at a pace that feels comfortable. This initial session focuses on developing a clear understanding of the concerns that brought the client to counseling while establishing a strong therapeutic foundation built on trust, respect, and collaboration. A comprehensive bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessment will be completed to explore the factors influencing the client's overall well-being. This process includes discussing personal history, current life circumstances, relationships, emotional and mental health concerns, physical health considerations, coping strategies, strengths, and, when desired, spiritual beliefs and faith practices. The goal is to gain a holistic understanding of the client's experiences and the unique challenges and resources that may impact the counseling process. Together, we will identify areas of concern, clarify priorities, and begin developing meaningful treatment goals tailored to the client's needs, values, and desired outcomes. Recommendations for treatment will be discussed, including therapeutic approaches that may be most beneficial. Clients will have the opportunity to ask questions, share their expectations, and collaborate in creating a personalized treatment plan that supports growth, healing, and lasting change. By the end of the session, clients can expect to have a clearer understanding of the counseling process, an initial plan for moving forward, and a sense of direction for future work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a combination of clinical expertise, genuine compassion, and practical insight to each counseling session. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, informed by neuroscience and trauma research, and, when desired by the client, thoughtfully integrated with Christian faith and biblical principles. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel both supported and challenged as they work toward meaningful change. One of the strengths I bring to therapy is the ability to balance empathy with directness. Clients can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where their experiences are heard and respected, while also receiving honest feedback, thoughtful questions, and practical guidance. I believe that growth often occurs when individuals feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences and courageous enough to confront patterns that may no longer serve them. My goal is not only to provide support during challenging seasons but also to equip clients with the skills, insight, and confidence needed to navigate future challenges independently. My approach stands out because it is holistic, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of each client. I recognize that emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual well-being are deeply interconnected, and I work to address the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. By combining trauma-informed care, neuroscience-aware interventions, evidence-based therapeutic techniques, and faith-based support when desired, I help clients develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and lasting change. Throughout the counseling process, I remain committed to creating a relationship characterized by authenticity, respect, accountability, and hope.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are women and families navigating significant life transitions and seeking support, clarity, and healing during challenging seasons. These transitions may include marriage, divorce, parenthood, caregiving responsibilities, career changes, grief and loss, empty nesting, or adjustments following difficult life events. Many clients come feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, emotional exhaustion, relationship struggles, or the lingering effects of trauma and are looking for a safe, supportive environment to process their experiences. I provide counseling that is faith-rooted, neuroscience-aware, and trauma-informed, recognizing the interconnected nature of emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being. For clients who desire it, biblical principles are thoughtfully integrated with evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support growth and healing. Understanding how the brain and nervous system respond to stress, trauma, and life challenges allows us to develop practical strategies that promote resilience, emotional regulation, and lasting change. I work collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths, clarify their values, and develop healthier patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating. Whether addressing unresolved trauma, strengthening family relationships, managing anxiety, or navigating a season of uncertainty, counseling is tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. My practice is especially well-suited for individuals and families who desire compassionate, holistic care that honors both their personal experiences and their faith. Together, we work toward greater emotional health, stronger relationships, deeper self-understanding, and a renewed sense of purpose and hope.
