I have more than two decades of intensive training in mindfulness and meditation, and I believe that is the reason for my ability to be very present. I believe in the power of human resilience and our unstoppable inclination to grow towards wellness, health and balance. We can heal and grow, no matter what obstacles we face. My clients and I collaborate to fuel positive change and create better relational and mental health outcomes. I have an extensive background in treating clients with depression, anxiety, substance abuse and narcissistic abuse histories.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, I am interested in finding out what brought you to therapy, and building rapport. No pressure. No need to talk about anything you don't want to talk about. Ever actually. We will go at your pace.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strength is my non-judgmental presence, and my ability to discern what treatment path might best benefit a client. My directness and humor makes it fun!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My dream client is ready and eager to work on growth and healing, wants to think about and implement tools discussed in therapy, throughout the week, between sessions. My dream client wants real, substantive, measurable change and is willing to challenge themselves.

My treatment methods

Jungian

I went to Pacifica Graduate Institute, with a depth psychology emphasis, and I also use a wide range of treatment methods.

Eclectic

I am always looking for, and willing to work in the way that works best for you!

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

For clients who resonate with IFS techniques, it can be a very powerful way of working with trauma, especially childhood trauma.

Feminist

A large proportion of my clientele are struggling with relationship issues, menopause, internalized patriarchy/misogyny, and stepping into their power as they mature into expanded versions of themselves.

Smart, insightful, open minded and warm. I feel comfortable and look forward to every session. I have spent a lot of time in therapy and she is my favorite therapist and cherished. I feel seen and continue to grow.

I’ve been working with Alison for quite some time now, and she genuinely listens to me and provides me with clear steps to help me perceive things differently and make effective changes in my life. I never feel judged for my mistakes, and even when I keep repeating the same mistakes, she remains incredibly supportive of my efforts.

Alison is confident, warm, affirming, supportive, and very easy to talk to. She really listens, asks great questions, and gives practical guidance. She makes me feel seen, understood, and motivated to keep moving forward. I feel safe opening up to her, and I’m grateful to have her in my corner.
