LPC, 14 years of experience
Hi! I am Ashley, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and South Carolina with extensive knowledge of standard counseling practices and procedures and over 15 years of experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy services for individuals, families and couples. I strive to promote the mental health and emotional well-being of every individual I serve. I look forward to working with you.
The first session focuses on getting to know you and understanding your unique needs. An initial assessment is completed to gather background information, followed by a collaborative discussion of goals and the course of treatment. This helps establish a clear plan tailored to your concerns, so you know what to expect moving forward.
Relatable and grounded in real-life experiences, offering genuine understanding of how difficult certain stressors can be to overcome without support. The therapeutic space is built on compassion, non-judgment, and practical strategies that help clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Sessions focus on developing healthier coping skills, discovering new perspectives, and creating sustainable changes to move toward the life each client desires.
Best suited for individuals navigating difficult life stressors and seeking support in building healthier ways to cope. Clients who are open to growth, willing to set goals, and ready to take steps toward positive change often benefit the most. The therapeutic relationship is collaborative, with encouragement and consistent support offered throughout the journey serving as a steady source of motivation and guidance along the way.
"You're as good as anybody." -Spoken to Martin Luther King by his father. We will use CBT therapy to bring out the positive parts of you, to replace the negative thoughts that you have of yourself.
EMDR focuses on the brain's ability to constantly learn, taking past experiences, and updating them with present information. Think of a computer downloading new information everyday but not being able to save pleasant experiences because it is subconsciously holding on to past traumatic memories. We will use bilateral stimulation as a way to help you effectively work through those disturbing memories.
Everybody has a right to be understood. Using psychodynamic therapy, we will use different theories in psychology that see human functioning based upon the interaction of drives and forces within you, particularly the unconscious, and between the different structures of your personality.
Everyone is unique! We will use eclectic therapy to you manage your problems based upon your needs at the time of treatment. Your goals will be conducive to your state of being and expectations.
ERP is a highly effective evidence-based treatment for individuals struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related anxiety condition. In ERP, we work together to gradually and safely face the thoughts, images situations, or urges that cause anxiety (the "exposure")- without engaging in the compulsions or avoidance behaviors that usually follow (the "response prevention). Over time, this helps reduce fear, build confidence, and regain control from OCD. ERP is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Dr. Maddox was a great listener. I felt safe sharing my personal information. I thought she had empathy, and she asked open-ended questions that ushered me to open up more as the conversation progressed. Most importantly, I felt validated rather than judged. I feel optimistic and motivated, and look forward to our next session
