New to Grow
Hi! I'm Sam. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan. While therapy often involves navigating difficult emotions, I also believe humor and authenticity can be powerful parts of the healing process. I use evidence based approaches and tailor treatment to each person's goals, strengths, and experiences. Whether you're managing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to help you build practical coping skills, gain insight, regulate your nervous system, and create meaningful, lasting change. I look forward to being part of your journey.
Starting therapy can be a big step, and it's completely normal to feel nervous. During our first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, and exploring what you'd like to get out of our work together. There's no pressure to tell your whole story in one session, we will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful that we can work together toward meaningful change.
I believe therapy is about creating a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, explore your experiences, and grow at your own pace. My role isn't to tell you what to do or make decisions for you. Instead, I strive to understand your perspective, ask thoughtful questions, and help you discover what feels right for you. I balance holding space with gently challenging unhelpful patterns when it supports your goals, always in a collaborative and compassionate way. Over the past nine years, I've worked in schools, foster care, community mental health, private practice, and nursing homes. These experiences have allowed me to work with people of all ages and from many different walks of life, giving me a well rounded perspective on the unique challenges people face. My goal is to equip you with practical tools, greater self understanding, and confidence so that, with time, you feel empowered to navigate life's challenges independently rather than feeling like you need therapy forever.
My ideal clients are people who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change, even if they're not quite sure where to start. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, ADHD, life transitions, relationship challenges, and stress. Many of my clients are learning to regulate their nervous systems, build healthier coping strategies, improve relationships, or reconnect with themselves after feeling overwhelmed for a long time.
