(she/her)
Having coped with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and PTSD throughout my life, counseling is not just a profession for me; it is an opportunity to share the skills that I use every day. My own journey with mental health challenges gives me empathy and understanding, enriching my ability to connect with others who are struggling. I have met with 100s of clients and I would love to meet you!
Many clients tell me they feel comfortable with me right away. In our first session, we’ll review the information you’ve already provided and clarify what you’d like to accomplish in therapy. There’s no need to feel pressure to know exactly what to talk about—I’ll guide the process and help the conversation flow naturally.
What makes me unique as a counselor is that I’ve personally experienced many of the challenges my clients face. In the past, I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and panic disorder, and I continue to live with an ADHD diagnosis today. Because of this, clients often tell me they feel truly understood, and I draw on my lived experience to help you believe that meaningful change is possible. Another comment I hear often is, ‘I never dreamed I would laugh this much in therapy.’ I strongly believe that humor and laughter can make the difficult feel more manageable.
I am best positioned to support women between the ages of 30 and 60 who are navigating the overlapping challenges of ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Many of the individuals I work with have spent years feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or out of sync—especially those who may have gone undiagnosed with ADHD for much of their lives. They often come into therapy feeling mentally scattered, emotionally exhausted, and unsure of their direction. I work particularly well with clients who feel stuck, confused, or disoriented and are ready to gain clarity and move forward. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand how their mind works and begin to make sense of their experiences. A key part of my work is helping clients shift how they view themselves. Together, we identify strengths alongside challenges and reframe patterns with greater self-compassion. I also focus on practical coping strategies to manage overwhelm, improve focus, and regulate emotions. Clients who are motivated to better understand themselves and create meaningful, lasting change tend to benefit most from working with me.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use an eclectic approach, primarily utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, couples counseling, motivational interviewing, and supportive, trauma-informed therapy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my session with Wilma. The first steps that we developed for me have made me feel very hopeful and excited. I was very comfortable talking with her and we both have the same sense of humor. I highly recommend her as a therapist.

I've searched for a safe space for a long time, and I finally found it with Wilma. She was meant to be a counselor and is the best at what she does. She has made me feel safe, heard, supported, empowered, capable, and calm. I strongly recommend Wilma.

This was my first session, and I can honestly say I've never been so ready to tackle my mental health. She truly made me feel heard and accepted.
