New to Grow
I am a licensed psychologist who works with individuals who have experienced traumatic events and are navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I use evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs, including EMDR, CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I enjoy helping people discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and become the best version of themselves.
Your first session is an opportunity to feel heard, understood, and supported. We will take time to get to know you, understand what brings you to therapy, and discuss your goals for treatment. You do not have to tell your entire story or share anything you are not ready to discuss. Most importantly, you will leave your first session with a better understanding of the therapeutic process and a sense of direction for moving forward. My goal is for you to feel safe, respected, and hopeful that meaningful change is possible.
I take a collaborative and individualized approach to my work. I recognize that every client is unique, with their own experiences, needs, strengths, and goals. I tailor my approach to each client and work together with them to identify strategies and interventions that best support their individual needs.
My ideal client is someone who has experienced a traumatic event and is struggling with its impact on their emotional well-being, relationships, or daily life. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. They are looking for a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where they can process their experiences and feel understood. I work best with clients who are open to exploring their experiences, developing healthier coping strategies, and gaining a deeper understanding of themselves.
EMDR can help clients process distressing or traumatic experiences that may continue to affect their emotions, thoughts, relationships, or sense of safety. I begin by creating a strong foundation of safety and trust before moving into trauma processing. We work together to identify treatment goals, develop coping and grounding skills, and make sure you feel prepared and comfortable with the process. When you are ready, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or other forms of alternating stimulation, while you briefly focus on aspects of a distressing experience. This can help you process the experience in a way that reduces its emotional intensity and allows for more adaptive thoughts and perspectives. EMDR is not about forcing you to relive or tell every detail of what happened. We move at a pace that respects your readiness and sense of safety. Throughout treatment, I collaborate with you to monitor your response and adjust the approach as needed.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a collaborative and practical approach to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns of thinking that may be contributing to distress and explore healthier, more balanced ways of responding. I help clients develop practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and other challenges. This may include identifying unhelpful thought patterns, challenging negative beliefs, developing coping strategies, practicing emotional regulation, and gradually making meaningful changes in behaviors.
