Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Tennessee. I received both my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work from Union University and I have been providing therapeutic services to clients for over 5 years. I help younger and older adults overcome depression, decrease anxiety, eliminate stress, and develop new coping skills to utilize in their daily lives.
In our first session, which is considered an intake session, I will gather information about your current and past issues as well as personal life. This is my first opportunity to get to know you and the information we gather from this session will be used to formulate a treatment plan during the follow-up sessions.
For several years, I have worked with adults from various backgrounds. During this time I have developed a knack for helping individuals find solutions to their problems, eliminate stress, utilize coping strategies and overcome life's challenges.
I enjoy working with adults who are comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings and overall are open to working with a therapist. My clients are committed to doing that work that is required to achieve overall mental wellness and calm.
I utilize Motivational Interviewing to help clients find the motivation to change their behavior by resolving their ambivalence and insecurities. We will use Motivational Interviewing in treatment to first identify your current stage of change, then to help you explore your feelings about change and find your own motivations.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy is used to help you become more aware of the present moment. We will utilize Motivational Interviewing to bring nonjudgemental awareness of the present moment experience, including your thoughts, bodily sensations, and the environment, while encouraging openness and acceptance.
Using a Strength-Based approach, we will focus on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than your weaknesses and shortcomings. You, the client, are considered the change agent when utilizing this treatment method and the goal is to help you build on your best qualities and change your worldview to be more positive.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment will help you build solutions to your problems by focusing on your strengths and future hopes, rather than analyzing past issues.
