Welcome! I am Yulia, a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Virginia, Alabama, and Missouri with over 6 years of experience in mental health in a variety of settings. I am here to help you overcome challenges that you are currently facing. Our life journey may surprise us with many joyful and positive experiences, but there are certainly times when we stumble upon disappointments, stressful life events, health concerns, loss of a loved one, or traumatic experiences that bring us down to our knees and make us question the fairness of life itself and our place in it. If you can relate, you have come to a right place and I applaud you for finding strengths to reach out for help.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In sessions with me you can expect a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental interaction within which I will support you in gaining understanding of the factors that contribute to the issues that you are experiencing. You will learn and practice coping skills and techniques that can greatly help to release stress, calm anxieties, overcome trauma, and improve your overall ability to manage life situations that are challenging. In our first session I will ask you to share about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to get out of this experience. We will then work together as a team on identifying your treatment goals to move forward. Ultimately, in our time working together, it's not about me giving you answers or advice and more about empowering you to take control of your life.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I hold the belief that one therapy approach does not fit all as human minds and lives are quite complex and unique. I will incorporate cognitive behavioral model, solution-focused therapy, and motivational techniques while utilizing person-centered approach, providing you are your own best expert and I am here to walk through this with you by helping you identify and use your strengths. Therefore, my focus is on employing a variety of methods and tools to meet you where you are and explore how your past and present life experiences contribute to your current struggles.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strength is in the ability to listen to my clients, meet them where they are, and to help clients reach their goals. As a clinician, I have worked in a variety of settings and experienced helping people with various psychiatric health needs. I specialize working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, experienced traumatic events, relational issues, substance abuse, or struggle to adjust to current situations.
