I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with all ages and a diverse group of clients. I enjoy working with young adults to geriatrics who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I like to incorporate faith-based interventions which have proven to truly encourage holistic healing. I enjoy working with other mental health professionals, people in leadership positions, and people in high burnout careers. I utilize CBT, mindfulness, and a strength-based perspective during my client work. I have experience working with patients and families in the medical sector; trauma, oncology, palliative care, and ICU. In the legal sector, I have forensic experience related to family court and have conducted mental health evaluations for district court. In the private sector, I have counseled a diverse population, including other mental health professionals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The intake assessment will consist of approximately 60 minutes, during which we will complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial and treatment plan. It is important to work on the goals together so we agree and are on the same page. This will help to keep the client on track and create transparency for their treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with a diverse population of clients with varying socioeconomic backgrounds. I create a professional and safe place for a client to process their trauma and challenge them to change unhealthy thinking patterns. This is all achieved by empowering the client to see beyond their diagnosis and constraints. I also have a very high retention rate.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I have experience working with ministry leaders, their families, and other Christians. I use a holistic approach to strengthen your relationship with God. This approach can help people heal from past trauma, work through unhealthy thought patterns, and help navigate toxic relationships. Addressing unforgiveness and learning about grace is paramount.

Adlerian

Everyone will be treated with respect and encouragement. I will make every effort to meet you where you are in your healing journey. Allow me to set goals with you that are attainable for your success.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma looks different to everyone and unresolved trauma can have long-lasting impacts on your wellbeing. I have treated clients with medical trauma, sexual trauma, grief, exposure to violence, and emotional and physical abuse to name a few. If you have trust issues, struggle with unhealthy relationships, trouble falling asleep, hypervigilance, or are hypersensitive, I would like to unpack this with you. I have experience helping others rebuild their trust in others which can lead to a reduction of mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression. It is important to regain a sense of control that may have been taken from you.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Together we will assess if you have intrusive thoughts. I can help you identify negative thoughts and then reframe them into productive and positive thoughts. Allow me to help train you on incorporating assertive communication skills, and learn and implement healthy coping skills. We will discover how your thoughts and actions impact your mental health and overall well-being.

Compassion Focused

Are you a person that constantly is apologizing, or trying to fix everything? Was there some form of abandonment or neglect at an early age? Allow me to help you assess your feelings of shame and guilt. There can be a lot to unpack, but it is worth the journey.
