SCHEDUELING AVAILABILITY ON GROW THERAPY IS NOT ALWAYS ACCUARATE. PLEASE REACH OUT TO ME DIRECTLY THROUGH MY WEBSITE TO SCHEDULE (www.bbcatherapy.com). With over 15 years of experience practicing therapy with children and adolescents in a variety of settings I have extensive knowledge helping children and families overcome mental health challenges. I believe in making therapy fun and engaging for your child. If they are struggling with difficulties at home or school, I can teach them coping skills so they can help themselves feel better. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, anger, depression, OCD, PTSD, stress management, parenting, and LGBTQ+ issues. I believe parents are the key to change. There is no rule book for raising kids or teens, but I help parents navigate behavioral challenges and will work with you to rebuild your relationship with your child. I create a warm and welcoming environment where children, teens, and parents feel empowered and supported. Life is stressful and we all need help from time to time.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session together, I will spend time with parents exploring current concerns, challenges, and gathering background information to get a better understanding of your child and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. Then I will spend time with your child individually to get to know them, help them feel comfortable, and explore what their concerns are for therapy. We will then sit down together and talk about a plan for therapy.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I like to utilize a mixture of books, worksheets, play, and art to keep therapy fun and engaging. I will always have an activity planned but give children the opportunity to choose between activities if they feel that one is more interesting or more helpful for them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked exclusively with children and adolescents throughout my career. I really have a passion for working with this population and have received specialized training in adapting therapy techniques in a way that children and teens respond to. I have also participated in extensive training in treating trauma in children and adolescents and am listed as a provider on the Program on Adolescent Traumatic Stress website. I have had the honor to be a repeat guest lecturer for psychiatry residents on topics involving trauma and parenting with UF Health's Department of Psychiatry.
