New to Grow
I have provided clinical care to clients for over 15 years across a variety of settings, including educational systems, community-based programs, and private practice. Currently, I serve as a Clinical Supervisor for an online behavioral health platform providing services to high-acuity clients through an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). I am passionate about supporting individuals through their healing and personal growth journeys and am committed to providing compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based care. I strive to create a therapeutic environment grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional practice. My goal is to empower clients with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to navigate challenges, strengthen resilience, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change.
My hopes for our first session together, through compassion, reflection, and active listening, is to build the necessary therapeutic rapport. This helps to lay the framework for creating the necessary treatment plan to give you, your family, or other stakeholders the best possible outcome for treatment. By the end of the session, The goal is for you to come away from the engagement feeling hopeful for the future no matter what obstacles you hope to address and overcome.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to integrate multiple evidence-based therapeutic approaches to meet each client where they are. My primary approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with Psychodynamic approaches utilized when clinically appropriate. This multi-modality approach allows me to tailor treatment to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model. I believe that effective therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. During our first session, I prioritize compassion, active listening, reflection, and genuine connection to create an environment where you feel safe, respected, and understood. I take time to understand your experiences, strengths, challenges, values, and goals so that together we can develop a treatment plan that is meaningful and responsive to your individual needs. What distinguishes my approach is the balance between compassion and practical, evidence-based intervention. I want clients to feel heard and understood while also gaining tangible skills and strategies they can apply in their everyday lives. Whether we are working through difficult emotions, unhelpful thought patterns, relationship challenges, life transitions, or other obstacles, I strive to help you develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence. Ultimately, my goal is for therapy to be a collaborative experience in which you feel supported while also empowered to participate actively in your own growth and healing. I want you to leave our work together with a greater sense of hope, clarity, and confidence that meaningful change is possible—even when the path forward may initially feel uncertain.
My ideal clients are adolescents, adults, and older adults who are seeking meaningful support, greater self-understanding, and practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. I enjoy working with individuals age 13 and older and welcome clients across the lifespan, recognizing that each stage of life brings its own unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. My primary areas of focus include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and clients experiencing more complex and high-acuity concerns, including Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), substance use concerns, and co-occurring mental health disorders. I am particularly drawn to working with clients who may feel overwhelmed by their emotions, stuck in patterns they want to change, or uncertain about how to move forward. I value working with individuals who are willing to explore their experiences, develop greater self-awareness, and learn practical skills that can support meaningful change. I recognize that seeking therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly for individuals who have experienced significant trauma, complex mental health concerns, or previous challenges within the healthcare system. I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe being authentic and where their individual experiences are respected. Ultimately, my ideal client is not defined by a particular diagnosis or presenting concern. I enjoy working with people who are ready to be supported in their journey toward greater stability, resilience, self-acceptance, and hope, regardless of where they are starting from.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that focuses on identifying patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress and developing healthier, more effective ways of responding. In therapy, I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful or inaccurate thought patterns, explore how these thoughts influence feelings and behaviors, and practice strategies for creating meaningful change. Depending on the client's needs and goals, CBT techniques may include cognitive restructuring, identifying cognitive distortions, behavioral activation, problem-solving, exposure-based strategies, and developing practical coping skills. I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to each individual. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, I help clients develop skills they can apply outside of therapy to manage challenges, increase self-awareness, and build greater confidence in their ability to navigate difficult situations. My goal in using CBT is to provide clients with practical tools and strategies that support lasting change while creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles and skills to support clients experiencing significant emotional distress, including individuals living with bipolar disorder and depression who may struggle with suicidal ideation, self-harm urges, or other high-risk behaviors. My approach focuses on helping clients develop practical skills to manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, improve relationships, and respond to difficult situations in healthier and safer ways. In therapy, I incorporate DBT strategies such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. We work together to identify triggers, recognize patterns that contribute to emotional escalation, and develop individualized coping strategies that can be used during periods of crisis or heightened emotional distress. I also help clients increase awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and urges without immediately acting on them, creating greater opportunity for intentional and effective decision-making. When working with clients experiencing suicidal ideation or self-harm, safety and stabilization are central components of treatment. I work collaboratively with clients to identify warning signs, strengthen protective factors, develop coping and crisis-management strategies, and establish appropriate safety plans and supports. When clinically indicated, I coordinate care with other members of the client's treatment team to promote continuity of care and support the client's overall safety and stability. For clients with bipolar disorder and depression, I recognize the importance of monitoring changes in mood, behavior, functioning, and risk over time. DBT skills can provide clients with concrete tools for navigating periods of emotional intensity while supporting greater self-awareness, behavioral control, and resilience. My goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel supported while also learning practical skills to manage distress, reduce harmful behaviors, strengthen relationships, and build a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.
I utilize a person-centered approach in individual therapy by creating a supportive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and accepted. I believe each client is the expert on their own experiences, and I work collaboratively with them to better understand their concerns, strengths, values, and personal goals. Through active listening, empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship that allows clients to feel safe exploring difficult emotions, experiences, and challenges. Rather than directing the therapeutic process, I support clients in developing greater self-awareness and identifying the insight, strengths, and resources they can draw upon to create meaningful change. I tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs and pace, recognizing that personal growth is an ongoing process. My goal is to empower clients to develop greater self-acceptance, confidence, and autonomy while supporting them in making choices that align with their values and desired direction in life.
