Hi, I'm Jason. I'm a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (LISW-S) based in Ohio. Over the past 8 years, I've had the privilege of helping adults and couples navigate anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, and the stress that can come with everyday life. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working in manufacturing. That experience gave me an appreciation for how difficult it can be to make big life changes and start over. Since then, I've worked extensively in medical social work and hospice, supporting individuals and families through some of life's most challenging moments. Those experiences continue to shape the empathy, perspective, and compassion I bring to therapy. I work with adults and couples from a variety of backgrounds and tailor therapy to each person's unique needs. My approach is collaborative, drawing primarily from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Strengths-Based Therapy. I believe meaningful change begins with feeling understood, so my goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we can better understand what's keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you move forward. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult relationship, adjusting to a major life change, or simply looking for someone to help you make sense of what you're experiencing, I'm here to support you as we work toward meaningful, lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so there's no expectation that you'll have everything figured out before we meet. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I'll spend time learning about what's bringing you to therapy, what's been working, what hasn't, and what you hope will be different in your life. Just as importantly, you'll have the opportunity to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you. Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the strongest predictors of success in therapy, so building trust and comfort is always my first priority.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often describe me as calm, approachable, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation rather than an interrogation or lecture. I bring a balance of compassion and practicality to our work together. I'll listen carefully, help you recognize patterns you may not have noticed, ask thoughtful questions, and offer evidence-based strategies that fit your goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. My background supervising other social workers and supporting people through significant medical and life challenges has also taught me the importance of meeting each person with curiosity, respect, and flexibility.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, or major life transitions. Many are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from the life they want to be living. Others may be struggling with stress, self-esteem, or patterns in relationships that no longer serve them. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether this is your first experience with counseling or you've been in therapy before, I strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection and willing to explore new perspectives, even if change feels difficult right now. Therapy isn't about having all the answers—it's about working together to better understand what's happening, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that help you move forward. If you're looking for a therapist who will listen, challenge you when it's helpful, and collaborate with you toward meaningful, lasting change, I believe we'd work well together.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe that meaningful change starts with feeling understood. My first priority is creating a space where you can talk openly without fear of judgment. Together, we'll explore what's happening in your life at a pace that feels comfortable while building on your strengths and goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. CBT helps us identify unhelpful thinking patterns that may be keeping you stuck and replace them with more balanced, realistic ways of looking at situations. Rather than simply "thinking positively," we'll work together to develop healthier perspectives that lead to lasting change.

Attachment-based

Many of the ways we relate to ourselves, and others were shaped by our earliest relationships. Together, we'll explore how past experiences may be influencing your current relationships, self-worth, and emotional responses. Understanding these patterns can create opportunities for healthier, more secure connections moving forward.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotions carry important information, even when they're uncomfortable. Rather than avoiding difficult feelings, I'll help you understand what your emotions are trying to tell you so you can respond to them in healthier, more effective ways. This approach can strengthen both your relationship with yourself and the people you care about.

Strength-Based

Even during life's hardest seasons, every person has strengths that can support healing and growth. I'll help you recognize what's already working, build on your existing resilience, and use those strengths to overcome current challenges.
