Hello, My name is Dr. Jeremy Carter and I am a Licensed Psychologist. I have worked in mental health for the past 18 years and look forward to using this experience to help you. Thank you for visiting my page and taking the first steps to emotional and psychological health. This is a long journey and Therapy is one piece of the puzzle that I strongly believe can help you. I practice a cognitive therapeutic approach, which is a focus on how your thoughts and internalized language has an effect on your health. I have worked with depressed and anxious individuals for a long time and this continues to be an area of interest for me. I look forward to starting this journey with you.
Sessions will primarily be direct conversations about your history, life circumstances, and stressors that have an effect on your emotional well-being. We will discuss strategies to improve your emotional experience and build your tolerance. Homework assignments will assist in the time in-between sessions.
My work is done in a Cognitive Therapy model. Linguistics is an important aspect of therapy and we will look at how your underlying assumptions affect every aspect of your life, including your overall health.
My experience has primarily been with depressed and anxious individuals. I have been very successful with these struggles, along with related problems with sleep, work, and appetite.
