Jennesie Delgado

LMHC (she/her)3 years of experience

My name is Jennesie Delgado and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a deep commitment to supporting individuals and couples through a trauma-informed, person-centered approach. I received my clinical training and Masters of Science at Touro University and have experience supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, and trauma. I feel that every person holds the capacity for growth, and I work collaboratively to help you build insight and meaningful change.

First session

During our first session you can expect a more structured dynamic where we discuss what your goals for therapy are and where I gain a better understanding of who you are and your story. We will go over informed consent, HIPAA compliance and any other policy related items. I also like to use this session to answer any questions you might have for me.

Strengths

When working with clients, I pride myself on not using a "one-size fits all" mindset. Every person has their own story, experiences and goals that deserve an approach specific to who they are. I have found that clients respond well to this method because it is grounded in the understanding that each person’s story is unique. I have seen consistent results using this method and it has helped clients trust the therapeutic process.

Ideal clients

I work with adults of all ages and believe that healing begins with safety, trust, and genuine connection. I strive to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, navigating a major life shift, facing difficulties in your relationships, or working through the impact of past trauma, I’m here to support you with compassion and clinical care tailored to your unique needs.

Treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I recognize the impact that trauma, (whether from a single event or prolonged experiences) can have on your mind and body. I prioritize safety, trust, and empowerment in my practice. I use trauma-focused CBT to support you in understanding how trauma affects your nervous system, relationships, and emotions, while helping you build tools for healing at your own pace.

Somatic

I use somatic therapy to focus on the mind-body connection. I recognize that emotional experiences often live in the body. By tuning into physical sensations, movement, and breath, I use this approach to help release stored tension, increase regulation, and restore a sense of safety in your body. It can be especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress, offering a path to healing that goes beyond words.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Rooted in empathy and unconditional positive regard, I use person-centered therapy to put you at the center of the healing process. Rather than directing or diagnosing, I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you are deeply heard and respected. This approach encourages self-exploration, builds self-trust, and honors your natural capacity for growth and change.
