Hello, I’m Dr. Cynthia McNeill, PhD, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Meraki Behavioral Health. I provide compassionate, personalized care for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and whole-person focused, taking into account your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. I integrate psychotherapy with medication management when appropriate, using evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing to support meaningful, lasting change. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and empowered. Together, we work to develop practical strategies, improve coping skills, and build a treatment plan that fits your lifestyle, goals, and pace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session together is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation designed to understand you as a whole person. We’ll explore your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and what you hope to achieve in care. I take time to listen, answer your questions, and create a space where you feel comfortable and supported. By the end of the session, we’ll review initial impressions and work together to develop a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication management, brief psychotherapy, or a combination of both—based on your needs and preferences.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are my ability to combine clinical expertise with a compassionate, patient-centered approach, grounded in both professional training and real-life experience. I take time to truly listen, ensuring each treatment plan is thoughtful, personalized, and aligned with your goals. What sets my approach apart is the integration of psychotherapy with medication management when appropriate, allowing for both symptom relief and deeper, lasting change. I use practical, evidence-based methods such as CBT and motivational interviewing to help you build insight, develop coping skills, and make meaningful progress in ways that translate to your everyday life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adults who are seeking clarity, stability, and meaningful improvement in their mental health. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, or life transitions and are open to a collaborative, goal-oriented approach to care. I work well with individuals who are motivated for change but may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start. My approach is especially helpful for those interested in combining psychotherapy with medication management when appropriate, and who value a whole-person, practical, and supportive path toward better emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use a combination of **motivational interviewing (MI)** and **cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)** to support meaningful change. MI helps patients explore ambivalence and build motivation, while CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Together, these approaches create a collaborative, goal-oriented process that supports both therapy and medication management when appropriate.
