New to Grow
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 19 years of experience, I am passionate about empowering individuals to connect with their purpose and meaning, even amid life’s messiness and overwhelming challenges. I understand how anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, and other difficulties can deeply affect how we see ourselves and the world around us. Throughout my career, I have been committed to walking alongside clients as they discover their full potential, guiding them through barriers that may obscure their true selves. My dedication to this work became even more profound after I faced my own unexpected medical crisis, which required me to relearn everything from basic to complex functioning. Living with a brain injury and having experienced the trauma and intense process of rehabilitation, I now connect with my clients on a deeper and more personal level. I understand firsthand the emotional, physical, spiritual, financial, and relational challenges that come with sudden life changes and trauma. In addition to being a therapist, I am also a mother, wife, and survivor of trauma. These roles have shaped my compassionate and collaborative approach, motivating me to be a supportive teammate for my clients. Together, we create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. As partners, we work to uncover their inner wisdom, resilience, and strengths, allowing healing and growth to unfold from within. Through this journey, clients begin to heal from within, gaining the freedom to move beyond obstacles and uncover the clarity needed to pursue their goals. I believe in the power of connection and collaboration, and I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s complexities, build resilience, and achieve meaningful personal growth. My mission is to walk alongside you as you create a life filled with intention, purpose, and hope.
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and relaxed environment where we focus on building a genuine connection. My approach is collaborative and conversational, I value humor and even a bit of sarcasm when appropriate, as it can help break the ice and foster trust. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, exploring your goals, and discussing what brings you to therapy. Establishing a strong therapeutic relationship is central to our work together, and I encourage openness, authenticity, and mutual respect from the start.
My greatest strengths as a therapist include my ability to build trust and truly “get” my clients—I strive to hear you, understand you, and create a space where you feel safe and valued. I use evidence-based interventions tailored to your needs, combining meaningful discussion of your situations with practical, solution-focused strategies. This balanced approach helps clients feel supported while also empowering them to find clarity and achieve lasting results.
My ideal client is someone who is motivated to engage in the therapeutic process and open to exploring personal growth and change. I am best positioned to serve individuals experiencing concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relational difficulties, or life transitions. I particularly enjoy working with clients who are looking for a teammate in their journey—those who value collaboration and wish to be part of a supportive therapeutic team. Clients who are reflective, willing to participate in evidence-based interventions, and interested in developing insight and practical coping strategies tend to benefit most from my approach. I also work well with those seeking to build resilience, enhance self-awareness, and achieve meaningful goals in their lives.
EMDR
I have found utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process traumatic memories and reduce distress has been one of the most successful tools for trauma. In my practice, I use EMDR by guiding clients through bilateral stimulation while they recall challenging experiences, facilitating adaptive resolution and emotional relief in a safe, structured, and supporitve manner.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be highly effective in addressing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. In my practice, I use CBT by helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs, develop healthier coping strategies, and implement behavioral changes that support their overall well-being.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Drawing on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I emphasize clients’ existing resources and strengths to facilitate positive change. In my practice, I support clients in articulating clear goals, recognizing moments when their concerns are less pronounced, and identifying actionable steps to move forward, helping them build confidence and resilience.
Grief Therapy
In my work with grief therapy, I focus on providing a supportive environment for clients to process various forms of loss, including bereavement, relationship changes, health challenges, and other significant life transitions. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as meaning-making, narrative techniques, and psychoeducation to help clients understand their grief, honor what has been lost, and gradually adapt to new circumstances. My practice emphasizes validation, compassion, and individualized strategies to foster healing and promote resilience.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS) in my practice, I support clients in exploring and understanding their internal parts or subpersonalities, each with distinct emotions, beliefs, and roles. Through guided self-inquiry and compassionate curiosity, clients learn to identify, communicate with, and integrate these parts, fostering greater self-awareness and emotional balance. This approach is effective for addressing trauma, relational difficulties, and internal conflicts, promoting healing and a stronger sense of self.
