(she/her)
Welcome! I'm Connie Stringfellow I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I have been a bachelor-level social worker since 2006; a master-level social worker since 2016; and a licensed therapist since 2020. My experience ranged from assisting children and families during my time working for Government entities to assisting families of all ages from the hospital to hospice service. With such vast experience, I believe I am qualified to assist you grow and heal.
Therapy will be difficult sometimes and at others the most enjoyable part of your week. I welcome these opposing states and embrace them as a sign of good work being done on your behalf. I ask that you bring your authentic and whole self to each session. I also encourage you to allow yourself to experience any emotion or thought freely, for example, crying without needing to apologize and voicing your feelings with confidence. If you are not quite there yet, I hope you will allow me to help you reach that point.
Thank you for beginning this journey. With my vast experience with I believe, I can lead you through this process and I am here to help you grow. No matter what the response has been, I believe you are making a good decision. Therapy is an inviting place where every single part of you is welcome, even the parts that are uncomfortable to share. As a therapist, I am privileged that you chose this process as your vehicle to healing.
There are certain elements necessary in therapy to maintain a space of positivity, growth, and healing. Yet, you are not responsible for maintaining those elements. That is the job of the therapist — my job. I must maintain a judgment-free space, a space that is challenging but comforting, and a process that is enlightening as well as retrospective. Be open with your therapist about your experience as it unfolds. And if it is not the experience you were hoping to have, I hope you advocate for yourself and seek support elsewhere if no remedy is made.

She was an exceptional therapist, was incredibly helpful for someone who has been in therapy, their whole life. It did not feel like I had to teach her anything. It felt like she knew what she was doing. She gave me things to work on so it didn’t feel like it was just me venting to someone. She gave me feedback when I was being too hard on myself. Was always very validating whenever I expressed my experiences.
