New to Grow
I am a Hispanic woman, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience, and an EMDR‑certified therapist dedicated to helping individuals heal from the wounds of their past. I work with clients ages 12 to 75 and offer a compassionate, culturally sensitive space where people can feel seen, supported, and safe. For those who desire it, I integrate biblical truth and faith‑based guidance into the therapeutic process, honoring both emotional healing and spiritual growth. Helping people has always been my passion, and I feel called to walk alongside individuals as they process trauma, rebuild their sense of self‑worth, and step into the life of peace, purpose, and wholeness that God has for them. My approach is gentle, empowering, and rooted in the belief that healing is possible—and that you don’t have to walk through it alone.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In your first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where you’re invited to show up exactly as you are. Person‑centered therapy is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—not to judge, pressure, or push you. Our first meeting is all about beginning to build a genuine, trusting relationship. We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. There’s no expectation to tell your whole story right away. Instead, we move at your pace, honoring your comfort level and emotional safety. I’ll ask gentle questions to help me understand your experiences, your strengths, and what support looks like for you. You can also ask me anything about the process, my approach, or what therapy might look like moving forward. This session is a chance for you to get a feel for me and for us to begin building a connection based on trust, empathy, and authenticity. Throughout the session, you can expect to be met with warmth, respect, and unconditional positive regard. My goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and understood—maybe in a way you haven’t experienced before. Together, we’ll begin creating a space where you can explore your emotions, your story, and your hopes for healing with openness and confidence. By the end of the first session, you’ll have a clearer sense of what our work together can look like and how we can move forward in a way that feels supportive, empowering, and aligned with your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets me apart as a therapist is the combination of my experience, my approach, and the heart behind the work I do. With over a decade as a Licensed Professional Counselor and advanced training as an EMDR‑certified therapist, I bring both skill and compassion to the healing process. I understand how trauma, attachment wounds, and long‑standing emotional patterns can shape your life, and I use evidence‑based tools to help you move toward lasting change. My approach is eclectic, meaning I draw from multiple therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs. At the core of my work is a person‑centered foundation—you are the expert on your own story, and I honor your pace, your voice, and your lived experience. I create a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood, allowing you to explore your emotions and experiences without pressure or judgment. EMDR allows us to go deeper when you’re ready, helping your brain process what has felt stuck so you can experience real relief, clarity, and emotional freedom. I integrate EMDR with other approaches to support your growth in a way that feels grounded, empowering, and tailored to you. For clients who desire it, I also offer the option to incorporate biblical truth and faith‑based guidance into therapy. I respect your spiritual values and will never impose them, but if faith is important to you, we can weave it into your healing journey in a meaningful and authentic way. Together, these strengths create a therapeutic experience that is compassionate, culturally sensitive, spiritually honoring, and deeply effective—helping you heal, grow, and step into the life God has for you.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You may be carrying more than you let others see. Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety that keeps your mind racing, depression that makes it hard to feel joy, or low self‑esteem that leaves you questioning your worth. You might find yourself stuck in relationship patterns that feel painful or confusing—fearing rejection, avoiding closeness, or feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough.” Even when you try to move forward, something from your past keeps pulling you back, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and emotionally exhausted. If you’ve experienced trauma or attachment wounds, you may notice how they continue to shape your present and your future. You might react quickly, shut down emotionally, or feel overwhelmed without fully understanding why. You may spend a lot of time in your head—overthinking, replaying conversations, or imagining worst‑case scenarios—while struggling to feel grounded, connected, or present in your daily life. You’re longing for peace. You want to understand your triggers instead of being controlled by them. You want to learn how to cope in healthy ways, regulate your emotions, and feel more connected to yourself and the people you care about. You want to break old patterns, heal old wounds, and finally feel like you can breathe again with clarity and confidence. And deep down, you want to reconnect with the truth that God created you with purpose, value, and strength. You want to feel the peace He promises and step into the life He has for you—one where you are no longer defined by your past but guided by hope, healing, and wholeness. If this is you, I’m here to walk with you. Together, we’ll create a safe space for you to heal, grow, and become more present, grounded, and confident as you move toward the life God designed for you with courage and renewed faith.
EMDR
I use is EMDR therapy, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR helps the brain process experiences that may still feel overwhelming, stuck, or emotionally charged. Many people find that certain memories, sensations, or beliefs continue to affect them long after the event is over. It’s a therapy that helps your brain heal from difficult or overwhelming experiences. EMDR helps your mind finish the healing process that didn’t get to happen at the time.
Eclectic
I use eclectic approach to therapy, which simply means I am trained in several evidence-based methods, like cognitive behavioral and trauma-informed therapies and have a variety of tools I can draw from. Instead of using just one method for everyone, we'll pay attention to what feels helpful for you and mix approaches to fit your personality, your pace, and goals. We'll check in as we go and gently adjust what we are doing so it continues to feel supportive and effective for you.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a person‑centered approach by creating a safe, calm, and non‑judgmental space where you can share only what feels comfortable. You set the pace, and I follow your lead while offering steady support, deep listening, and compassion. My role is to help you feel grounded, understood, and empowered as you reconnect with your own strength and healing.
Attachment-based
In my practice, I use an attachment‑based approach by helping you explore how early relationships may be shaping your current emotions, patterns, and sense of safety. I offer a steady, supportive, and consistent therapeutic relationship so you can experience the trust and connection that may have been missing in the past. Together, we gently work through old wounds and build healthier, more secure ways of relating to yourself and others.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use in therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT. CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. When we’re struggling, our mind can get caught in patterns that make us feel worse—like assuming the worst, blaming ourselves, or feeling stuck. I’ll help you notice patterns that may be unhelpful or inaccurate, and together we’ll practice new ways of thinking and responding that feel more balanced and supportive. I’ll teach you tools you can use in your daily life—things like grounding skills, ways to manage anxiety, or strategies to shift negative thinking. We’ll go at your pace, and everything we do is collaborative. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your thoughts, more confident in your coping skills, and more empowered in your life.
