Lidia Berrone
I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has been working as a nurse practitioner since 2002. I have been treating patients with mental health for 6 years. I have a strong passion to help individuals live their best life. I focus on symptom management with the use of medications, but also feel that therapy plays a vital role in achieving the best outcome.
First session
During our first session, I spend an hour getting a thorough history of past treatment with therapy and medications. I review positive and negative outcomes of medications. I review family and social as well as past trauma. Individuals are encouraged to share as much or as little as they are comfortable with sharing at the first visit.
Strengths
I have a strong commitment to helping patients achieve positive outcomes by listening and taking the time to really understand what their need are and what is keeping them from moving forward.
Ideal clients
I have treated patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, trauma, autism, substance abuse and ADHD. I use medications and therapy to help pt manage their mental health needs.
Treatment methods
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Extensive experience discussing challenges patients face with their negative thought process and how it affects their behavior. Changing the way one reacts to a situation beyond one' control helps manage stressful situations. I use mindfulness techniques non-judgmental, present-moment awareness to treat conditions like anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. It helps individuals break negative thought patterns by observing thoughts and feelings without reacting to them.
